After being able to get a 3rd brake light, I was able to get the connector on, but when it came to mounting it, same thing. Is there two clips I'm missing for it to sit against the rear glass? I also noted after plugging in the light i started my car and hit the brakes and nothing lit up. Is there a dedicated fuse for this light? This has become frustrating as it's not only easy to crawl into the backseat but have an awkward working position doesn't help. I gave up for now. Any help or guidance would be appreciated! My car is a 2015 SHO. Did Ford redesign the mounting tabs after a certain year???

The two black plastic box style mounting tabs shown here obviously dont match up to the "clips" on the light itself.

The fuse also powers other components. Check for voltage and ground at the window connection. There is also a capacitor for the brake light on the LH side of the package tray. Wire colors are Violet/Brown positive and Black/Gray ground.

Will check that out even though I'll have to take out the rear shelf unit to get to the 3rd brake light capacitor. I couldn't imagine it going bad on a 10 yr old car with 123k.

I don't know. Just giving you information. The capacitor is not inline with the brake light. Also, the new brake light should have metal clips on it to clip into the brackets on the glass.

Found the culprit. Unplugged wire but I dont have the male tab connector so I'll have to cut and splice wiring into the light for it to work. Ugh car electronics are funnn, not!

In order for me to have it working properly, I had to bypass that previously stated male connector on glass and run it direct as well as grounding it to the body of the car and tie everything up behind the pillar trim. Lastly i had to remove the old "clips" that were in the way. I think Ford is dumb for changing the design. I had to use the tabs from the car i got the light off of. I couldn't put the black trim cover on because I have to move the light forward more against the headliner. What a pain in the rear.
