i have a 95 ATX with about 90,000 mi on it. Recently the air conditioner has been not working properly. It blows cold for about 15 minutes then blows warm air. The system has recently been recharged, and the high pressure switch replaced. I also noticed that the condenser does NOT cycle. It engages when the a/c is turned on and disengages only if a/c is turned off or after about 15 minutes of driving. Need help fast.

thanks, Clint

Assuming that the A/C is still fully charge (check with gauges), I would bet that your A/C clutch gap is too wide. Gor to SHOtimes.com FAQ section for full details, but there is a pretty small window to hit. You can check the gap with feeler gauges before you remove anything. Let me know if you need more help.

P.S. Which Vancouver are you from?

If it is just the clutch gap, it is not that big of a job. My fastest was 45 min, the longest was about 2 hrs because the clutch was stuck on pretty tight.

It is supposed to be cool and rainy in OR/WA this weekend, so the trip should be nice at least that leg w/o A/C.
