You'll get throatier sound from the intake. I wouldn't do it unless I could do it on the real cheap. I have the third cat deleted and used to have a cone filter that sounded nice but got really dirty. No appreciable performance difference I can tell. I think with a good tune the car would wake up a little and take advantage of the changes, as well as firm up the mushy tranny shifts. Without a tuner I wouldn't bother. Just my opinion.

ok, thanks for the input...i guess i'll just leave it alone, no sense in messing with it anyway ....only problem i can tell, is sometimes the car just slightly is searching for an idle, and again not all the time, just once and a while....it has a new isc in it, so i don't know, but it has stalled on me 3 times since i started driving it....it goes and it comes, but makes no sense....the way it is acting is it's a bad isc...(idle speed controller) anyway who knows, i would like alittle louder exhaust, just so everybody knows it's a v8, so i may mess with the rear cats..

Eliminating the main cats can make an improvement, but requires a re-tune to realize the gains. Even then, you're really only going to see about 5-10hp out of a tuner, and another 10hp out of a catless pipe.

Screwing around with the intake does absolutely nothing to add power, and can easily rob power.

Short of nitrous, there really aren't any "cheap" ways to make a lot of power with these cars.

I personally hate my cold air intake, very noisey and no power gains. It was on there when i bought the car.
Wire open the secondaries and get an xcal. Nothing else does anything unless you want to get into nitrous and serious trans mods.

Flip Over Read Directions<---If only it was true. Damn:cool:

Hey I believe my Cold Air Intake, helped move my shift points a little higher.and it shifts a little harder. believe it or not. I've heard of a couple people who have noticed the same thing. That Goode's air intake. for 100. bucks I think is worth it. My Exhaust system I dont really believe it helped me make more power, I feel like it just moved the powerban up about 500 rpms. Which made the car a little sluggish launching from a light. Thats why I got the Torque conveter. I havent done the Cat delete yet. Good luck with your SHO.

they sell the Goode intake ready to go on Shosource.com

Get the intake made for the car,Dont make one. The Goode intake has a heat shield and it actually works. I had a normal K&N filter that I had originally just put in place of the factory air box. And it sounded real good. But my gas mileage dropped by almost 3 miles per gallon. That was almost 40 miles less a tank. I couldnt figure out why. When I hooked up my scanner. I saw that with the car running it was taking in air around 114 degrees. I was losing performance. When I bought the goode intake with the heat shield. the air intake temperature dropped to the mid 80's. and I actually saw a gas milage increase over the stock intake. and it had great throaty sound. hopes this helps. goodluck with your SHO. Laterz
