My '97 drops electrical power out to the interior when parked. The key pad on door will not work. The keyless entry doesn't work. When you open the door with the key, there is a clicking around the interior fuse panel. The dome light and head lights do not work. And when you put the key in and turn it nothing happens. I disconnect the battery for 10 sec and reconnect and everything works as it should. I have replaced the GEM on the back of the fuse panel but still have problem. Anyone with any help? My daughter can seem to keep the key in her pocket and I have to bring her the spare key.

May be the trans range sensor AKA neutral safety switch on top of the trans.

Of course I have a used one if you want to try it cheap.

Interseting that everything works after you disconnect and then reconnect the battery cables. I had that issue a few months ago and it turned out to be the battery cables. How old is your battery? Could be a combination of both.

Battery is about 1 year old. Cables are clean where they connect to battery. I replaced the battery saver relay wednesday. The last time it failed was Monday night. Will check other end of ground cable this weekend.
