Well if your blowing fuses somethings shorted and putting bigger ones in is going to make it worse. You have a wire that is crossed or grounding somewhere.

Check the capacitor mounted to the front of your coil pack. if the wire has broken off and is shorting out, your underhood ignition fuse will blow. Been there done that, have a pile of blown fuses to prove it....

Use a "shorted wire finder" - a.k.a. a penny.

I guarantee you, you WILL figure out what's making the fuses blow.*

*Not recommended if you don't want your car to probably catch fire.

no luck on capacitor.its secured&,no breaks in the wire..i did try that "short finder"on saturday nite.i used a paper clip&it lit up like a sparkler& lookd like a red hod welding rod! i got freakd out & almost dumpd a bottle of water on fuse panel.but i just grabbd it with pliers real fast.all the while my girlfrend,is turning the key for me & saying why do you hafta drive an old car that u are always fixing, wtf its cold out! anyways im gonna keep looking for burnt wires..

i was thinking.last week the climate control randomly blinked, shut off &went back on real quick.that happend on my other one when the alt.was going bad.i remember the positive terminal was broken&i put on an new terminal.the cable barely reached the batt.you think i mite have chaffed the + lead while stretching it? also on the starter where the wires connect is loose.not the wires, but the actual piece on the starter. anyone know if that could be the problem with the short thats popping the fuse?
