Try this:

http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...e=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=102

If that doesn't work you don't have a properly functioning trans....

When my original unit crapped out I lost 3rd gear, didn't get it back untill after the rebuild.

Doug

Was sooo happy to pull apart and find exactly as described as above, broken c clip and all, I replaced the whole thing with the one out of the other trans only to take it down the road and have it do the same damn thing!!!! Tried resetting the computer and tried again that changed nothing.

I'm guessing that while the clip was in the process of failing, it let the servo only partially engage long enough that the clutch/band now just slips. It will need to be rebuilt to work properly, unfortunately.

Okay so it worked all day till I made that post, and it shifted the 1-2 shift perfect without the jolt it had been doing....does this lead back to the vss maybe? Or possible a filter/fluid change? It shouldn't be the trans, possible the od soilnoid it self?

VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
TSS - Turbine Speed Sensor

Could be an internal selonoid which can be done by you if you wish. Behind the side trans pan is where you will find them and they are not very expensive.

Like I said it would be best to just change the VSS to rule it out. It's under $30 and is relatively easy but annoying to change. I have had no VSS codes before and had success in changing it to solve intermitant problems. If your having issues with 1-2 upshifting and 2-1 downshifting it can usually be related to either internal clutch issues or TSS (not VSS) issues.
