hawkeye, Im confused. Everything I search about on here for code 336 refers to insufficient exhaust backpressure. Does this still have to do with the EGR?

When searching I found that 332 refers to an EGR issue..

The 336 is kind of a catch-all code for the EGR system. What it really means is that the DPFE (Differential Pressure Feedback... er, something) isn't sensing a great enough flow of exhaust gasses through the EGR valve. Insufficient flow usually means a clog somewhere, and clogs normally form in the narrowest place, which happens to be the nostrils in the intake that lead from where the EGR valve bolts up to the throttle body area.

Now I don't have a whole lot of experience unclogging EGR passages as I've deleted them on both my ATXs. I can tell you how if you want (it requires a chip or a TwEECer for it to really work), but I'm sure somebody can chime in and tell you how. As I understand it, it just involves shooting carb cleaner through the orifice and two little nostrils by the throttle body to clean the gunk out.

Most of the 300 series codes refer to EGR. Most 500 series codes are EEC related, most 600 series codes are transmission related... you'll notice a theme if you look at them long enough :p.

Edit: No beers necessary, they don't serve beer in Iraq anyway
