Check your fuses under the dash (above the brake pedal). I thought I had a similar issue recently where I had a difficult time pulling codes and my dash light was not lighting up. One of the small fuses (15A?, blue one) needed replacement

All the other lights come on. I'll check the fuse

if it won't light for any reason, its possible that the bulb is burned out or a previous owner could have pulled it out. it should have some ability to illuminate.

That being said, there are obdI code readers that are just a plug for the wiring harness with a red LED light that blinks just like the CEL on the dash. You would still have to count the flashes etc but it is a work around for a non functioning dash light

Do they make them just for this car? Where can I get one?

Okay just to make sure before I get one. This is for the stored codes right? The person I bought it from said they took it to a auto store and had them check the CEL even though the light was not on and said they didn't find anything.

Yes it will read all trouble codes. One has a digital readout and one has a blinking LED that you have to count the flashes. You may or may not have anything stored but the light should show some signs of life. either at startup or when checking for trouble codes or something. It should blink or flash at least once

Okay so I randomly decided to put the old busted up sensor back on. And what do ya know, it started. So I'm guessing I was sold a bad sensor.

Just curious what sensor you are referring to, cam, crank and MAF sensors are mentioned at various points in this thread. Guessing cam . . .

Ok guys I figured out how to get it to start. All I did was unhook the battery for a minute anc it will start? Does that narrow down anything?
