I have a 93 sho with atx. The tranny will give a slight jump shifting when it's warm. Another problem is that i will engage overdrive say after about 40 mph. When i come to a complete stop the tranny feels like it's in neutral and given enough throttle it bangs hard back into first gear. I've tried to disengage the overdrive before i stop but it will still do the same thing. I'm worried that the trans is dying but it doesnt seem to be a mechanical issue. The car only has 60,000 miles on it but the again i dont know it's history.

I think it is time for you to start saving. The first concern does not bother me so much. But the neutral sensation at a stop light is bad. Most likely forward piston is cracked.

Double check your fluid level first.

Try VSS. They are usually about $25 even at the local parts store.

If that does not solve your issue then I would do a flush and fill. After that if there is no difference your looking at a new tranny.

hmm my car seems to be doing the same thing, how would the speed sensor create that type of problem, cuz my car is literally doing the same exact thing but my car has around 135,000 miles

I remember having an issue with my VSS in my old 94 but it would only now downshift properly at stop lights. I guess it could be a cheap try, only issue is that is it a real pain to replace from what I remembered.
