93 ATX Timing Belt Tensior Question

I have been getting a slapping noise from the front of the engine. It changes with RPM. It's not the accesory belt or any related components. I've pulled everything apart and the timing belt seems fine, however I can easliy move the tensioner pully back and forth a little (1/2 inch). This 1/2 inch movement might acount for the belt slapping. Am I on the right track?

It sounds like your tensioner is at the end of its life. Yes, that can account for the slapping. We are currently starting a group buy for these....
