a friend says its cps but when we went to replace that i noticed the crank bolt was stripped! I've thought about drilling it out but what do i replace it with? I've looked for crank bolts and the junk yard is the only place i know of, but that wont be easy

i think i might have one at the shop but wont be able to check till tomorow if you cut off the torque washer around the head you should be able to get it out fairly easy but dont do it untill you know you have found a replacement. i dont think its crank sensor the usual sign of bad crank sensor is it will die when hot and not start till it cools but ive seen wierder stuff happen i would check to see if maybe their is coolant dripping on it first. have you tried driving it with the maf unpluged?

and i just noticed you have posted this in the wrong section you can ask a mod to move it for you

Replace your crank positioning sensor....My 92 was doing the same thing before my sensor went bad. And yes, random stalling is a symptom of a bad cps, and not a symptom of a MAF issue. The stalling will get more frequent until you will eventually not be able to start the car.
