Is it still possible to get an OEM 9 3/4" flywheel? Ive gone to Car Quest, Autozone, Pepboys, advanced auto parts, and napa. They all have the flywheel in the system for like $50-$60. But they are all either out of stock OR tell me yea we've got it come back tomorrow it will be in in the morning. (that ones the best) I go in and its always wrong. If someone knows where I could get one that would help A LOT. If not, I'm thinking of resurfacing my flywheel (the heat spots aren't too bad)
:thankyou::)

Heat spots are normal for an organic disk clutch.

Resurface your own, if you are happy with the ring gear. Your starter and it have been getting along for years, no sense breaking up a set.

I had the same problem, but found a solution! I bypassed all of the auto parts stores (all gave me the same answers and you got) and found a place in California that shipped one to me for $75. Standardflywheels.com Just put it in this weekend. Works perfect. They are great to deal with. They didn't even want the core back! Part # is 727.

Now I just need to find a front motor mount, or make one! Ended up reusing the busted old one as nobody had one locally.

if you want the 9.75" you have to tell them a newer year. 89' to 91' i believe have the 9.25" kit.

Only 1989 had the 9.25 and all were recalled by Ford to upgrade to the 9.75" flywheel and cast pressure plate. If you need to replace the flywheel, I recommend the 17lbs steel billet flywheel. The engine will rev quicker and the flywheel is plenty strong for what ever clutch you want to install.
