Those painted headlights are the best visual upgrade in addition to the painted chrome crap, they look awesome :thumb:

"His 2.0L EcoTech GMs are in the high 400s whp, the 3.5L Ford will be epic"

Am I reading this wrong, I think it says upper 400 wheel horse power out of a 2 litre engine. Is that right?

There is a chick at Irwindale (1/8th mile track) who runs a 800whp on a stock bottom end Ecotec Cobalt in it's full FWD glory. Does mid 6s in the 1/8th at some ungodly mph (was a few years ago, just remember the time). Those bottom ends are insanely strong.

The 6F55 is used in the Raptor with a 6.2L which has more power and torque than our cars.

When did the raptor become front wheel drive based?

The raptor uses fords 6R80E, except The 6.2L has an extra steel plate and friction plate in the low/reverse clutch pack. This trans is loosely based off the 4R75E/4R70W which was AODE based.

I was under the impression that the 55 in 6F55 was the torque rating of the tranny divided by 10. Is this not the case? Surely they wouldnt advertise a tranny being able to handle 550ft/lbs when it will only handle no more than 400...
The first number is the # of forward speeds, second character is Rear Wheel Drive based application or Front wheel drive based (i.e. "R" or "F") and the last set of numbers is the torque capacity.

You are correct, i.e. 4R70W - 4 Speed Auto, Rear Wheel Drive based, 700 ft lbs of torque.

4R100 - 4 Speed Auto, RWD, 1000 ft lbs of torque.

5R55E/W/N - 550 ft lb

But that torque rating is POST converter. Like the Converter in the 4R100 has a mutliplier if 1.9, so a 7.3L early super duty power stroke was putting out around 500 ft lbs of torque. You do the math.

Later, it was a 5R110 in the 6.0L, and then 6R140 for the 6.4L and 6.7L Diesel trucks.

Considering it's a SEMA vehicle it probably doesn't get much time on the road. This car is too new for anyone to know about longevity being stock or with a tune.

From what I understood, the 6F55 was upgraded from the 6F50 for Ecoboost applications because the transaxle was already "at the limit".

I kind of see that, since we're at a flat 350 ft lbs of torque. Maybe I'm not correct though, but I think that tuning is there in order to not destroy the trans.

As wchain pointed out

I spoke to a few engineers on the SHO and other EcoBoost D car programs and when I asked them about the weak point of the car, I was told the trans and that it was only designed to take about 400ft-lbs from the flywheel. It is also an upgraded version of the 6F50 to holed up to the EcoBoost's torque. http://media.ford.com/images/10031/EcoBoost_6F55.pdf (This is why I can't wait until the EcoBoost F-150 gets into the hands of tuners with the 6R80E backing it up :dribble:)

That jives with what I was told a former senior Ford transmission engineer.

Rear buckets with custom console.....has an area for interchangable art work panels or could be an upholstered panel your choice. Interior trim was painted body color. I worked with Metra to develop a 2-din dash kit that allows an aftermarket navi unit to be installed. I comes with differant heat controls and
info screen. They have modules to retain the SYNC functions also.

More details about the aftermarket stereo pls.

Its for sale now check out the METRA web site. It allows installation of a 2-din
aftermarket head unit. It matches the factory finish on the SEL (grey) but is paintable.

I like alot of that car, chin, paint, wheels, ride ht., minus the bedazzleing rivets and hood scoops. I'd really like to see the side view mirrors go away, put a camera there and a small screen to view it on.

Thanks.

Did you use your buttons or the buttons provided? It looks like the kit one is for the SE cars only, and you lose the auto button feature...
How about sync? How did you integrate?

There are no rivets, the wheels are true three piece which means they are bolted together, could have done blind bolts from the back like they are on the spokes. They are button head cap screws stainless steel. they match the bolts on the motor cycle gas cap ring that was welded in, in place of the fuel door. There are a lot of details on this car that are not obvious. Still rides nice with the H&R Springs and the 22" AXIOM RBD Signature wheels & Pirelli
PZero Nero tires. Wheels, tires and brakes are lighter than the stock by a little which is surprising being so big. The Baer brakes are amazing !
I will post the options and pricing on the brakes next week.

Have a great weekend guys !

+1 For the chin spoiler and brakes. Would like a little more power to help stop the beast. Love the painting on the headlights, little details like that make it really stand out.

I will have to say the car looks much better in person that the photo's show. If you take a little time you can see all the details which went into the build. Then again, perhaps I'm a bit bias in my opinion

Please guys give me a break, this my 37th SEMA build and they all run and are
fully functional cars. You guys are way to critical. Did you even notice the wheels with the nickel plated lips and the grey -blue anodized centers and nickel plated calipers ? We are taking a SHO too new heights ! The stereo by the way is 1600 watts not 16,000 don't know where they got that info.
Hahn Racecraft will doing staged power upgrades throughout the coming year.
His 2.0L EcoTech GMs are in the high 400s whp, the 3.5L Ford will be epic.
my goal is help get some cool product in the market place for the NEW SHO !
Cheers everyone,
Rick Bottom
