Changed the thermostat and checked the cooling fans. Drained and refilled the coolant system installed a new radiator cap. The cooling fans do come on with or without the climate control running. I did a search on the V8sho.com site and ran across a statement made by a repair person stating that gen two's had pump failure at around 60k and was common. But the gen 3 on the other hand seldom have water pump failures. I have run out of ideas as to the cars overheating issue. My last idea was to replace the fan temp relay but they are working? So what I'm thinking could it be a circulation problem and be the water pump? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The radiators are known to get clogged with debris on the outside and not cool very well after enough years. I just had to replace mine a few weeks ago.

Clean your radiator and replace your water pump belt and most likely your problem will be solved. I have suggest the replacement of the belt a few times with other forum members but for some reason nobody seems to listen about replacing a $15 dollar belt as preventive maintenance.
I have had three water pump belt failures during the summer months on differents SHO's I owned.
Good luck fixing your problem.

If you have the original degasser tank get a new one. It will come with a new cap too.
