I have a 1993 mtx engine that needs machine work and a 3.2 donor on the stand.

I've read 3.2 swap requires modding front head or fabricating a front motor mount. Why do the majority of people opt to swap/alter the front head versus fabricating a front motor mount? Are the rear motor mounts interchangeable? If not, is either useable with a 3.2 swap? I'm no fabricator, so my plan was to bring both front a/c brackets to a fabricator and tell them what I need. Am I missing anything?

The front head is different because the accessory drive system is different and it takes different mounting. Are you going to use the 3.0 or 3.2 accessories on the new setup?

You can use the 3.0 rear motor mount on the 3.2.

I'd like to use 3.2 accessories to avoid swapping everything from engine to engine. seems like a lot more time and effort to swap everything versus getting a motor mount made. That's why I asked why most people opt to swap everything.

Found the thread where @rubydist mentions a custom motor mount.

So, ive done 2 3.2 swaps
On 1 I used 3.0 heads, and everything bolted right up with like 1 mod (i forgot what mod though)

The other, 3.2 heads and had to dremel out a corner for the alternator

On both I had to move all the accessories
All in all, I found it to be a pretty simple process (as simple as changing out an engine can be at least)
