Ok, so since ive replaced the tranny ive been working on cleaning up the SHO a little bit. Well i put the battery back on and hook everything back up. I open the door, no light.... Well thought they were just blown, so i flip the switch and they come on.. No matter which door i open. What could it be....

Also, my back windows dont roll down. Why?
:thankyou:

rear windows, odds are the motors are shot, but occasionally it is because the switches are dirty, but my money is on a bad motor;) I am not sure about interior lights though, my buddy had that problem with his explorer 3 or 4 years ago, and guess what, we never figured it out and it is that way to this day:rofl:

I would say on your lights that there is a short some where or corosion in the wire or mother board is I would think would be the only answer for that but I could be wrong have been befor my wife tells me every day hope that helps.

Rule #1 - need to post year and type of SHO.

You need to retrace everything you disassembled/disconnected recently. Control of the interior/courtesy lights when the doors are open are controlled by the door jam switches at the front of each door.

Did both rear window motors stop working at the same time, and at the same time as the interior/courtesy lights ?

Does the car have keyless entry or illuminated entry ?

And as mentioned above, were any fuses blown ?

The probability of all the door jam switches failling at once is statistically improbable (like one-in-a-gazillion, and they didn't make that many SHOs). This leaves fuses, electrical short, or an illuminated entry/keyless entry module fault. It's possible that an electrical surge when the battery was connected fried a fuse or control module.

The probability of both rear door window motors failling at the same time is statistically highly unlikely (like one-in-a-million), so it is much more possible than all door jam switches. This leaves mutliple electrical shorts, a problem with the Driver's door master control switch, or the keyless entry module (if so equipped). And again, it's possible that an electrical surge when the battery was connected fried a circuit in the keyless entry control module.

Do you have a multi-meter and access to salvage yard for parts ?

i agree with the above post...
what i learned about my 95 when i got it was the keyless entry box also controls the lights coming on when doors are open...
i would have the door ajar light but no interior lights and the fuses were good a long with bulbs and door pins..
i replaced my keyless entry box cuz it was messing up on other things also then everything worked perfectly
