12 Volt power source

Looking for a 12v power source and ground, near the rear view mirror to power a radar detector and a dash cam. where is the best and easiest place to tap into? It can be always hot or just key on hot. Thanks, John

Connector that plugs into the rear view mirror. Pin 1 is 10 amp ignition power. Pin 8 is ground.

It should be the connector that plugs directly into the mirror.

I opted to tap into the power for the power sunroof just incase the DVR/radar detector is a bit noisy so that it wouldn't possibly cause any goofiness with the car's camera or mirror. I don't recall if there are any other items on the sunroof circuit but I recall not being concerned about adding a small amount of extra current draw or noise on the sunroof circuit and the wires are easily accessible by pulling down the overhead console and routing to the front of the headliner. For the DVR I needed a small 12VDC to 5VDC (USB) DC-to-DC converter and that was easy to tuck above the headliner too.

Connector to the sunroof switch. Pin 2 is 10 amp power. Find your own ground.

I found one at the bulkhead under the dash the PO had used for a radar detector, not sure what it goes to but I'm using it as a trigger for a relay anyway to run my dash cam and gauges.
