I daily my SHO and I have a 60 mile round trip commute, that's a lot of margin for stupidity on the roads so I have added a dash cam. I had the web of wires look so I tucked it in the mirror, to the headliner, down the RH a-pillar and into the glove box. From there I just take the plug out of the glove box and plug it into the socket under the radio.

I like complicating things so while I was running wires I noticed the cavernous space above the glove box and thought I could put 2 12v sockets inside, one to run the cam full time and one for future key on accessories, now the question, what can I tap into for 12v key on power? I know these things are fussy with their electronics killing batteries even when off. My first thought was the sun roof, anyone find a good key-on power source? Planning on doing the relay and running independent power to the sockets, just need a trigger from a key on source.

I had hard-wired switched power to my DVR in my former 2011 SHO and former 2013 MKS via the overhead console. My cameras required 5VDC but there was plenty of space up there and under the headliner to position a small DC-to-DC converter. Both of my cars had a sunroof, which is switched power, so that was pretty easy. Even if your car does not have a sunroof, it may have the switched power up there anyway.

I don't think I took photos of the install to share, but I could dig up the wiring diagrams if you don't already have access to them or if you don't want to probe around with a test light to figure out what wires have power when.
