Installing a Thinkware ARC dash cam and a Uniden R8, and hiding the wires. I thought about connecting at the mirror but decided against it. The Uniden has a wired remote feature that I wanted to use, so I elected to connect under the dash. Also, the dash cam has a wired rearview camera so that closed the deal as to how to power it all. I started by removing the bottom trim on the door opening, the trim piece next to the dead pedal and the lower trim of the dash. The metal dash support was next. Mine was rusty, so I cleaned it up and powder coated it 'BMW Silver'. I figured the color would add a more sporting nature to the car, plus that was the only color I had. Next I carefully removed the A pillar trim. There is an airbag attached to the A pillar, but just stay away from it and you will be fine. I got out my trusty HF mini flashlight and shined it down into the opening next to the A pillar to see if there was a direct opening from the bottom of the dash. And there was light. Use a fish tape or a stiff piece of wire to push the camera and detector wires up through the opening, the best way is to start to the left of the parking brake. I'm still probing circuits, but it looks like it will be 36 for battery and 21 for ACC power
The wiring will go up the A pillar to top of the windshield, then behind the headliner and come out to connect to the dashcam and detector. Here are some photos

Are you using fuse taps to connect ACC and batt? The wiring kit I used came with them. If you don't think they're working, take them out and spin them around. I won't admit how many hours I wasted until I figured that out.

You also have to be careful of where you put the original fuse back in. The original amperage fuse that you are tapping into should go in the lower position.

Having an issue finding the correct fuses and fuse taps for my 14 Taurus. It takes a 'mini (low profile)' fuse, and apparently there are two different types of 'mini low profile fuses'. Also every mini low profile fuse tap that I have received from Amazon would not fit. I've got some coming from another company that should be here soon that will hopefully work. In the photo below, are the two types of mini low profile fuses. The type on the Right is the correct fuse for the '14 Taurus.
