i own a 1991 sho 3.0 with 108k miles on it.i have had a intermitant miss in the engine for some time now, you can drive it at 3000 rpm every thing working fine and all of a sudden you will see the tach drop down to 2000 rpm and the motor will run on 4 cyls. i pulled the codes the ecm didnt show any codes i can put a timing light on #1 coil pack and see that it it not firing the plugs . i have changed to plugs, plugs wires , valve cover gaskes ,knock sensor (while i had the intake off), timing belt , water pump, crank sensor, i also removed the front crank gear and inspected the front seal for oil leakage, and the coil pack i have also removed the cam senor and checked for oil leakage on the vanes of the hall effect

Did you mean to ask a question or just let us all know how a bad coilpack acts?

I don't understand. It sounds like you have isolated the coil pack as having a bad coil or 2?

Have you replaced the coilpack?

Inspect/test the wiring between the coil pack and the DIS module.

If the wiring is not faulty, replace the DIS module.

Relatively common fault. Coilpack failures that exhibit this symptom are very rare.

That's a LOT of work (and parts) for a non-diagnosis.....
