Finally got a couple of hours free this weekend to work on my car. I was able to remove both turbos in about 4 hours. I was actually able to get the rear out without dropping the subframe or removing the axle. I took the wastegate off, took the two bolts that hold the intermediate shaft to the block out, slid the axle out a little to get the bracket out of the way, twisted the turbo so the hot side was up, and snaked it out cold side first. The bad news is the housings are 790317-0007 and 790317-0009. CR Performance claims their CHRA cores only work on the 790317-0006 and 790317-0008 so, I need to call them and see what the incompatibility is. Also, found out while taking them apart that, the rear wastegate e-clip was missing. It was still functioning, just missing the securing clip.
@Ta2dResqr you have a lift at your place? I assume you will be sending yours in for rebuild. I know Ford turbos have been hard to find.

Jack stands and hand tools in the garage. I am currently looking at TurboBay rebuilding them or CR Performance CHRA upgrade cores. I have reached out to them to figure out the part number issue. I ordered everything else I need from Tasca today. TurboBay is 4-5 weeks out once they receive them. They are claiming 50mm wheels. I am going to talk to Matt tomorrow to get more information. 50mm seems huge. CR has 40.6mm/52mm on stage 3. I didn't see specs on GH and they are out of stock.

I believe the different casting numbers have to do with a brace that Ford removed. 2010 had a brace to the engine block. Sometime along the way, Ford decided it wasn't necessary. My 2016 did not have the brace or the boss for the brace on the housing. All replacement turbos have the boss for the brace so that only one left and one right part are needed for replacement. There is no difference in the cartridge.

If my is correct, this is the boss.

The number is stamped on the lighter-colored housing (cold) right where that flat spot is. Hopefully, it is just the boss and I can use the CHRA. It will save me $1k.

Went to my alignment today. Watched the guys take the sho up on the lift and watched my muffler system just fall off when the band clamps hit the cross bar of the lift. I laughed with the guy and said hey you got half way up the lift and now it sounds better lol
Just an omen that i should yank it all off and just run open downpipes again

Congrats! Very interested to hear your take on those. I just watched a YouTube video on a SHO with the H&Rs, and the reviewer commented that the car drove very smoothly. Made me want to consider getting those again.
Lol, with your pp shocks they will be fine. I recommend replacing the shocks if they are over 60k miles.
I have 120k miles on my non pp shocks and its like riding on one of them gas powered pogo sticks. I have new pp shocks to install just still on the fence about going back to factory springs

Hmmm . . . well that sounds like a vote for H&Rs, then. My SHO only has 15,*** miles. The demonstrator in the video seemed totally unaffected by the H&Rs, again, commenting on the "smooth" ride of the H&R'd SHO he was test-driving. If I really hate them, I suppose I can just pay have them go back to stock.

I wouldn’t read reviews on how it rides. Every car is different and what is harsh to everyone is different. Mine rode real nice and flat when i installed them at 72k miles same time new engine went in. On wore out incorrect shocks it was fine. Now its getting bad. The back squats when getting on it. Only did that with factory springs. I know rear shocks are done. Fronts dont feel bad but ill replace all them here soon. Just had alignment today so ill have to get another one once i put new shocks on

@SM105K says his rides like a Tank, but tanks are cool so….

I find the ride with the H&R's too bumpy but love the handling and lowered look.

Funny my car is a PP - and I find the stock ride to bumpy - but handles for such a large vehicle. I will/want to lower my car - regardless if the ride gets more stiff. I love the look - and lower center of gravity. Concerned about leaving my exhaust on the edge of a lift like @yaycandy lol

My Corsa exhaust is about ~5 inches off the ground. You learn how to go over every bump on an angle.

My band clamp bolts hang lower so thats what hit at that angle pulling up onto the rack. Never had an issue anywhere else. They have a slope up to the bay door and then the slope to get up on the rack so it all mathed itself up. 2 half nuthings is a whole nuthing. Just on the wrong end of that whole nuthing
