Figured id share what ive been doing to my sho over winter. Still in development but working pretty good. Worked with @aaron240 on a custom dual intake with HKS goodies. Sorta just to show that these components are possible on the sho platform with some trial and error and hopefully we worked alot of the bugs out of it. Its not something that we have intrest in selling, but to just give an idea of again.... what is possible.
This wasnt a weekend development. My car has been tore apart since july 2020 with other projects in development also.
Aaron has some cool things he is developing right now also that i cant wait to hop on.
Under the hood looks like a mess but its all still in testing and adjustments.

The large HKS Sequential bov. Ssqv4
Just sounds amazing, no springs to deal with and its race tested and trusted.
I have sound clips from different boost levels, ill have to make a youtube to post them.

Dual HKS mushroom honeycomb filters, i have a heat surround for it ive been test fitting over the past couple days and should have it ready to go shortly.
All the piping is custom from Aaron, it also feeds into his intercooler setup for Mishimoto that is in my profile picture.
Even with open filters the iat2 temps arent really affected at full boost, maybe in the desert they are ;) lol.
Once i get my heatshield installed and sealed up i can get better iat2 temp readings in the summer with the Mishimoto intercooler also.
Also need to figure out a new front pcv routing, the old rag over the port will work for now.

Aaron did similiar setup on his car but as its all custom, they are just similar but still different enough. Sorta like the gen4 gen5 argument lol

I also installed phenolic spacer and brisk silver spark plugs. Thank you @Ecoboost_xsport for the advice when i needed it.

Any questions on install you can reach out to Aaron or me, we aint done. Its only the beginning. I will not be following this thread after a day or so. Less time online, more time on many developments we are working on. I just wanted to show whats possible on the platform with a little effort. Negative or positive, have at it. I may update in the future and plan to show off some upcoming development at Carlisle Ford Nationals along with my 90' SHO restoration.

Thanks and God speed!

I like it!! :thumb: Interested in hearing how that BOV sounds.

Just was out for a spin in it around town in manual sport mode. Sound is pure awesomeness. Bov has soo many diffrrent sounds at different lift spot and rpm ranges.
It installs normal. They sell a weld on adapter and then you get the bov and just have it welded on a pipe. I have mine on my noisemaker delete pipe from EPP

100%. In a back to back on a dyno with the stock airbox, that will lose power.
How because the intake can flow more air now? The stock airbox and y pipe is more restrictive than this setup. The heat that these dual intakes are exposed to is not going to limit the amount of air the turbos can flow and compress vs the stock air box and y pipe system. More power can be made on the increased amount of air the turbos can now flow and compress in a turbocharged setup vs potentially 15-30 degree higher intake air temps with a stock restrictive airbox and y pipe.

Are you concerned about intake temps from the open intake?

Its still alot cooler than my stock intercooler and sealed roush intake. I have a sealed intake for these. Installing today, a good intercooler wouldnt matter if the filters are in the engine bay. At boost. Idle its warmer.
Ive dyno tested it. It making more power than my stock setup and cooler temps than gh intercooler at full boost via my tuner guy.
Also have the v3 meth kit im adding soon anyway.

You guys are straight up winey babys, ill continue my development. Reason why i didnt share it months ago. I dont need publicity, these pictures are mostly from months ago.

Well stated. This platform generates a lot of negativity if you try and fabricate your own parts or decide you want to think outside the box and try to develop something different.

We as engineers know better then these arm chair warriors. My car is in a windtunnel at a Pratt and Whitney facility for my next project, i trust the 8 or so engineers we got working with us on our custom projects...

The stock setup can flow enough for anyone here beyond perhaps bpd1151, Jordan_R or 802SHO.... Even then I can't see much gain beyond maybe at red line.... The main restriction has always been the turbos themselves.

Pretty soon that will no longer be the issue either, on stock turbos ;)

Then why spend all the money on the EPP dual air intake then if the stock one is more than capable and the turbos are the limiting factor. People are flagging this modification for excess heat in the intake air temps and saying it loses power over the stock airbox while everyone also says the EPP dual air intake makes more power because it can flow more air not keep temps cooler.

Link some EPP vs k&n drop in dynos.
EPP is purely for sound and looks(also wallet weight reduction)

I'm actually against all cold air inductions on the Ecoboost platforms UNLESS they show dyno or data log evidence of gains.

That being said, I'm all for ANY development even if it's destructive. I'm a Function over Form guy so cosmetic mods don't even come within 250,000 miles of my moon. That doesn't include mods that do both though such as wide body or fender flaring.

So yeah, I wanna see you make stuff and yeah I'm gonna ask for results and try to make suggestions and critique them even though I don't even own a SHO anymore.

Keep up the good work guys.

I love how a simple question devolves into someone being a whiney baby. Enjoy your hot air intake maybe y'all what's wrong with the platform and not the people asking questions.

Im all function. But stated in the first post. Its a glimpse in mid development. The intakes wont be sucking up exhaust heat, they will have their own cold air scoops after wind tunnel testing shows what areas are best.

F1 shows their mid development 2022 side skirts made of cardboard and ductape but people think thats cool. Lol

Wasnt directed at you boo, i was ready for the come backs just on that mid development issue.
Not an issue, just where it was when i took the picture

For me, I went with the EPP intake because the stock intake was leaking in many places! I’m not sure how common that is though?
