E30 is 94 octane. For comparison, unleaded race gas is 100-104 depending on retailer. E85 is 108. A 2013 PP is advertised with ~13.7@103. I am guessing that is with premium (91 or 93 octane depending on retailer). So if a tune, plugs, and a 1-3 octane bump shaved 1.14s off the 1/4 for you, I'm guessing it is not to crazy (or anything unordinary) for you to be able to shave another .24s off your time by increasing 9-13 octane. So my comment stands, stating a full weight, stock car, with only a tune, was able to run a 12.32 because of the tuners abilities while failing to mention the car is running high octane fuel is very deceitful. It is wanting attention and bragging right where none are due. It is like I said comparable to anyone else comparing a car with a power adder/mod to a car without the power adder/mod. Higher octane will enable many things that cannot be done on the stock form car. I'm sure you know this and that is part of the reason you run E30.
Ehh, his point was that he had no other mechanical mods. Fuel is available to everyone at a minimal cost, take advantage of what's available to you.
We've been 12.56 on 93 no other mods and 12.36 on E30 no other mods, and have customers running 12.01 with nothing other than an E30 tune on an XDI HPFP. It's a backwards way to mod for sure, but it delivers and he's running just as fast as the E30 meth guys in his area with much fewer mods.
If we were all willing to share our knowledge with each other instead of having rap battles, we'd prolly be in the 10s by now.
Ok man. First, the ECU doesn't have any control over a driver's reaction time so that's why I took it out of the equation. It's called normalizing the data. Well said. And I personally don't find anything backwards about it. Is that all? Assuming a true E85 fuel and a 93 octane fuel (no ethanol), I calculated you would need to use 5.29g of E85 and 9.71g of 93 to get 15g of E30. Using this calculator, with 5g of 108 fuel and 10g of 93 fuel, it says you should have 98 octane.93 mixed with true e85 should be a hair over 96 octane

I know E85 isn't as readily available in some parts of the country, but here in the central states it's on every street corner so I run it year round without issue.
95% of fuel tanks around the country aren't seeing a true E85 blend right now, if ever. My local stations are rarely over a 72% concentration, and right now if I gas up completely from the E85 tank I'm lucky to see 60% on my ECA.
I was hoping to experiment with it but apparently I live to far in the country. The last place anywhere near my daily commute to have it just closed up.
If you started with E72 instead of a true E85, wouldn't you just add more E72 to achieve E30? In this case 6.25g. Isn't the end result still E30? Since you are mixing it, you can control that it comes out to the correct E30.
Please don't take this as a challenge of your knowledge. I am new to this and trying to understand. I am using what I can find online and struggling through this. I ask a lot of questions because I want to understand better.
I also found a cool calculator on BCB page that will let you calculate 2 fuels with a known octane rating and ethanol percentages. A LOT easier then how I started.

Gained flow not lost but PV=nRTThere is a great article on the supra forums I linked in another thread here somewhere about Air flow vs Colder air. With an intercooler swap only (went from horizontal to vertical flow) his IAT2 went up but gained 20whp on the dyno. Boost was able to hold higher/longer over the rpm range because it was able to flow significantly better. Wonder if that is the minor downfall of the GHIC, great IAT2 temps at the cost of flow? Either way it can certainly help make power but just wanted to throw the info out there.
You are discounting the effects of direct injection with ethanol fuels. Octane is currently tested with antiquated methods that don't take this into account.E30 is 94 octane.
