I have done it for so long, it is just life for me now. Sometimes my sleep suffers but I try to get to bed before 9:30 pm. I am usually up at 4:00 am during the week, and I sleep in til about 6:00 am on the weekends. Work starts at 5:00 am and I have a 27 mile drive both ways.

I get it. I get up through the week at 4:30 work at 6 with a 18 mile drive through deer country. I try to get 1.5 hours of home gym time per day in through the week with outdoor cardio(running the dog, mountain biking) on the weekend. But I’m only doing 40 hrs a week.

I feel you guys. I work 6:00-6:00 swings, 4 on 4 off with a random OT day in there for 60 hours a week. The am-pm I’m up at 3:00am for the 36 mile drive. For the midnights I get home just before 7:00am and I’m lucky to sleep till 1:00pm. After eight years, what’s sleep?

Installed my new trans cooler over the weekend. I made it way harder than it should have been. Grr....However, trans temps dropped at a sustained 90 mph in 107 degree heat to 200 degrees. I am happy. Also it appears my trans was overfilled almost by 2.5 quarts.......I have a theory on this.

When my trans was replaced at 3k miles of break in I did the 5 out and 5 in. My trans dropped 7 quarts....I should have know. I put 7 back and and checked the level. At that point it was high, but not crazy.

Working on it this weekend I wanted see exactly where it was at. Ended up dropping 2.5 quarts before it was happy. Geez. So yeah.

I also in a hast to get to breakfast closed the hood on a quart of trans fluid that I had placed in the engine bay.......that caused a mess and a mini panic attack....I am an idiot.

Also I am not a fan of mounting through the condenser, and I will address that later. I didn't have any means of securing the top at this time. However, I will make brackets and fix it.

How is the cooler secured on the bottom?

Couple things between yesterday and today.

View attachment 12661

Next I cut a hole in my undertray, and then drilled in the radiator support to expose my GH IC drain. Yes it isn't pretty, but it works, and I don't see it, so it all is well.

Can you remind me which side that drain plug is on? I need to cut mine as well...I forgot during the install. :|

I removed the crash bar and used self tapping screws to secure it to the crash bar itself. I used some old weather stripping in between the cooler and crash bar. I only snugged the top of the cooler, because it does not move at all. I wanted to limit front to back movement.

I did too, that is why I went back in and cut the window for it.

At the 12:27 mark of the install, Jordan shows you where to cut.

While I was out testing the new trans cooler, I was approached by a C63 AMG. I really like those cars, but I want to say it was 2015 6.2 V8 non biturbo model. Couple of guys mid 30's rolling in it. They paced right near my passenger side rear door, which lead me to believe they were trying to figure out what my ol bull was.

At around 70, he gets next to me, and I dropped it into sport mode. Sure enough he gets on it. Those AMG's sound so damn good. However, I anticipated he wanted a run. He jumped about a car (no gap) and around 90 mph were even. I stayed in it to win it and after putting about 5 on him and still pulling I let off. I immediately looked at the trans temp and it read 204. It moved only 3 degrees in 107 degree heat. It quickly recovered back to 200 degrees. He ended up pulling off and kept on my way of getting information from my cooler.

At the time, I didn't realize what speed I let off at. I was focused on getting the car back down to freeway speeds and watching the trans temps. With the Powerstop Junk pads they would fade pretty bad even after a high speed braking event. However, with the new stock PP pads, they worked great. No fade, and I was on them pretty hard. Upon reviewing my min and maxes on my Livewire, I let off at 137.8 mph.....opps.

She has been running like a top lately.....almost too good for her setup....lol.

I wont lie, I didn't want to run it up that fast. I before I knew it I was on the brakes....

The freeways are sparse with the new C19 outbreak here in Phoenix, so when in Rome....

I would say so! Those are like 500hp and 450 ft-lbs, not to mention they are made for those highway runs.

Yeah MB rates them at 451 hp and 443 tq. I see them stock dyno 370/370 ish to the tire. My car is pretty much a 400 hp and 500 tq to the tire car. We are pretty close in weight (with his passenger), I was in a sweet spot of 4th gear.

I was looking at another year or trim I guess. The one I saw was 507hp and 450tq. Regardless that’s an impressive notch on your belt.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to try a BiTurbo C63 from a roll. From a dig....lets get it on.
