No harm in buying one used, you aren't giving 'them' your money. Lol!

Logo can easily be covered with a sticker or something if necessary. I think you will like it!

To be honest the performance of your car and your input was a big reason I went through with it.

Not throwing shade or trying to start anything: I just finished reading the lms firestorm hpfp thread on ebpf and you seemed pretty adamant about staying away. What leads you to believe they maybe be reliable enough for you?

It was pretty simple. Personally I think the FS HPFP did in fact fail on that car. However the owner has not provided an update. Last I heard that pump was at XDi being tested. However, that is the only FS HPFP one I have seen fail. I have only seen one XDi pump fail as well.

My gripes with LMS is the way they treat customers after the fact. The way they re-brand and mark up other branded products. My biggest gripe is their actual tuning philosophy.

The pump that I bought I know the complete history of. I know when it was purchased, and how many miles are on it. I was also offered the pump at a very reasonable price as well. The price was good enough to outweigh the cons "if" something were to happen. It made both parties happy as both parties are quite acquainted with each others SHO. Both SHO's now have the opportunity to be upgraded, thus making both owners happy.

I will not name names, and if the other individual that I purchased the pump from wants to chime in, I would of course welcome it.

That is exactly the answer I was looking for. I appreciate the time you take to answer completely. I’m looking forward to seeing more hurt feelings courtesy of M.

If I didn't know the all the information as clear as I do, I would not have even entertained the notion of putting any FS HPFP on my car. Much less giving LMS money for it.

This upgrade should give M the edge over mostly everything I come across on the street, and will make her a better roll car as well.

I felt just as guilty installing a GM flex fuel sensor under my hood.

Cold showers and shame for weeks.
Right?

You know that 6F55 trans in your car? It is from GM.......

wouldn’t you know it though, it’s the worst part of the car. Hmmm

Incoming Upgrade:

I have needed a HPFP for awhile now. I have tried every way to justify spending the money for a XDi. I have come close to purchasing one more times than I want to admit. However, I couldn't pull the trigger.

That being said. I know I will catch some crap for my next statement.

I recently purchased a slightly used FS pump. I weighed the pros and cons (they can attest to that) and for the price I couldn't pass on the opportunity presented to me.

What I took into account:

Yearly mileage of my SHO: Less then 4k a year (if that). I don't daily my SHO.
Mods: I have all of the supporting mods (minus turbos).
Single Fuel Source: I should be able to run straight E54 out of the pump. No more mixing, just testing.
Fuel Pressure: I won't have to worry about FP drops anymore (my stock HPFP recovers well). I still have boost issues, but this should basically allow me to pin the gates closed and let them eat.

I have only seen one documented FS HPFP failure (not all facts have been presented yet) and one with XDI. I know there are a couple of 11 second SHO's on the FS HPFP as well.

I will be removing my stock HPFP and vacuum sealing it. It will make its new home in the trunk with the exact tools needed to change it out. When I go on long road trips I will swap back in the stock HPFP and change tunes. When I get to my destination, the FS HPFP will go back and I will reflash the tune. Then the GAP band tour will begin.

I will modify the foam and engine cover as well. If I cant see it, then it isn't there? Correct?

Modify inline
I would leave it in 24/7 and only ever use the OEM HPFP in the case of an emergency......like a Med Kit. Otherwise why go through the ordeal of changing it in and out? If it's good its good

Yeah I was confused about your logic behind swapping in and out as well. Especially since you don’t drive it a ton. Leave it in and send it.

It is easy to swap and when I drive it on long trips I would rather have the other pump taking the abuse.

What all does your livewire show for gauges? Trans and coolant, IAT and IAT2?

When are you installing the fs hpfp? Do you anticipate an increase in fuel rail pressure?
