Loaded up my first E30 tune from Brad. I didn’t blow my first mix too bad, e27. Had a little more in the tank than I thought.

Did have quite the adventure loading the tune though. I’m nervous every time I flash a tune fearing the worst and my fears came true. Apparently, my car doesn’t like the new fuse for the Fuel-it ethanol reader installed while flashing a tune. Long story short, lots of phone time with SCT, a partially bricked PCM, a new battery, and three flashes later I’m running e30. I guess it all worked out in the end.

I had the same feeling, ran into this and have been using it ever since. Seems to work well enough https://www.brewcityboost.com/about/ethanol-calculator/ . I also have a Fuel-it kit i need to install but this gets me by in the mean time.

This is what I did today she will no longer run this motor is done. I'm ready for a new one which I ordered today with 62k mile on it.
Took off the intake manifold today. It will be going into the shop to get ported out for a new throttle body and possibly more debating on it.
I will be taking off the valve covers also to clean those up painted and hydro dip. Debating on the color thinking everything will be painted red and dip with white carbon fiber..

My motor had 135k miles on it needs a new water pump timing chain. Had car for 3 years no problems. I'll clean it up fix it then sell it. It was cheaper to pull motor out and replace it plus new motor comes with a 5 year warranty

Wait...cheaper to replace the entire motor than to do water pump and timing chain!?!

Do these have a double roller chain, or a single?

If we can keep this in perspective a little, Wsho what kind of upgrades do you have? How aggressive are you driving your SHO? Is it a daily driver or something you just beat on from time to time? I’m also a bit concerned, Kevin81 , I just snagged a 16 with 60k on it and am wondering what I can expect for longevity.

While you have access, how much intake valve coking do you have? (Maybe a quick picture). What kind of oil do you run? Catch can? Just a personal fascination I have with DI engines so I like to hit people up when the intake is removed.

Guys this has nothing to do with the motor this is my preference to do this. The motor is fine just a water pump started to leak.
This is my daily driver it's not like I've beating on it all the time like I don't give a shit. Yes I drive fast who doesn't end occasionally taking it up to 140 on I-80 no biggie.
I take care of my cars how you treat your car's how your car going to treat you.
My mechanic was going to pull the motor out to fix it so I decided just to get a low mileage motor.
I had the car for over 2 1/2 years and had not one single problem. Except for the OEM thermostat that may have caused the issue with the water pump 6 months ago. that was the OEM thermostat with 132k miles on it.
Now that I think about it if I change that thermostat when I got the car at 100k this would have never happened.
Before I got my car which I'm the second owner car was garage kept and never driven in the winter time. At 100k highway miles the previous owner drove over 2 hour to work and back.
So if you're reaching 90-100k miles for about 30 bucks change out that thermostat..
So what I'm doing or adding to the car besides a low mileage motor custom matching engine painted color & hydro dip. 70 mm throttle body with ported intake manifold, color matching valve covers, color matching Eliminator pipe, hot pipe, dual intake & filter box, front mount intercooler, Methanol injection kit, map 3 bar, cooler plugs, low Temp Thermostat, MSD coils, New ported exhaust manifolds with ported matching new turbos, EPP Ceramic downpipes into new polished exhaust system going through 1 x-pipe 2 cutouts 1 Muffler 1 x-pipe out to 3X9 oval black tips. I know I miss something somewhere. But That's about it in a nutshell.

Okay here's what I got throttle body mount is on the left so I go left to right with the pictures seems like the chambers are cleaner towards a throttle body you'll see in picturesome
