Reserving this space for any/all updates pertaining to the rebuild of my 2010 SHO following the catastrophic failure while my SHO was at Livernois Motorsports.

I've chosen to utilize an entirely different vendor for the rebuild. Max Power Automotive located in Lockport, IL.

Although I don't do FB, here is a link for those guys that do:

https://m.facebook.com/Maxpowerautomotive/

Moving along, the motor has been completely torn down, and the results of which are located in a thread I started titled "A sad, sad day in the history of my SHO".

We are aiming for between 1,000 and 1,100 horsepower with this build.

The block has currently been shipped off for closed decking.

All new internal parts will be utilized and we will be having all of those internals treated with a "WPC Treatment". More info on that, can be had here:

http://www.wpctreatment.com/#

Click on the "About WPC" tab on their homepage.

Additionally, I will be purchasing a new PTU, and having that disassembled and sent off for the same treatment process described above.

I plan on ordering a PI alternator as well, in order to handle the electrical stress from audio system sufficiently.

Currently in the process of researching trans upgrades as well, even if it need be custom.

More info to follow as it occurs.

I've been busy working a butt load of overtime (which is something I previously chose never to do) but given the costs that lie ahead, well worth the effort IMHO.

Anyhow, I hope everyone's well and enjoying their Summer respectively. Kind of bummed about this entire show/track season likely being a wash. But, I have goals to achieve in my crosshairs, and my motivation to come back even better than before, have me grounded and focused!

As always, stay tuned.......

08/09/2019 --- Ordered the new PTU replacement and the Police Interceptor alternator for my SHO.

BOTH are due in early next week.

Alternator will sit and collect dust so to speak, while other aspects keep chugging along.

PTU will immediately be brought to the machine shop performing my rebuild, so that they can disassemble it, and prep it for the WPC Treatment (previously discussed) to coincide with treating the various internal engine bits.

Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

Also have some inquiries into (possible) trans upgrades.

Trying to budget ahead of time, while continuing to submit myself to slavery type hours of overtime at my employer.

I've been blessed with more hours than I anticipated. Which is good for the pocket, but bad for the body.

Motivation's still burning strong, so ahead I forge. Hope everyone's well and enjoying their Summer.

I'm living vicariously through all of your posts about your experiences, so even though I don't reply as often as in years past, know that I'm reading each of them, and smiling.

bdp, Hey jackasses shows Chi town is up to 1688 shootings/ 308 homicides so far this year. The thugs look like they're doing their part to keep you working your ass off. Watch your 6, and stay safe. Hopefully you're not working in any of the hot zones. The stress relief machine will be back on the road before you know it!

Thanks fellas. I've made it this far (26yrs completed) watching my six, and I'll keep doing so!

Side note, recieved a text from machine shop owner today, that the closed decking of my engine has been completed, and the block is making it's way back to his facility.

Maybe pics by end of next week?

. . . . Just got these sent to me from the machine shop. Literally. Engine has returned to their facility. Full closed deck completed. Yea baby.

I asked what was next in the process, and he replied with the following (in quotes).....

"I'm waiting for the pistons, so then I can hone the block and set my piston too wall clearance. Then resurface the engine block and align hone the mains with the arp studs".

Enjoy the car **** fella's. Exciting times on the horizon. F3cea2bcd508f7770c7945da11d0824a66cb2d76a7974f9922c84a1a40c1df34

Yeah so owner of DBR seemed pretty excited about the build, but their tuner is not as excited about the build, and I'm not gonna spend tens of thousands of dollars on my car without everyone on board, back to the drawing board, BPD do you have any suggestions, should I have LMS do everything they can then move on to someone else. Did you vet anyone else in the process that could be similar to the one you are using, If so I would like talk to them.

Okay BPD has got me excited about the potential we have with our cars. The shop I have decided to go with is DBR Performance in Tennessee. I will make a separate post on the plans for my SHO. This should be a blast;)
