Updated Coolant Hose Master List (3.0 & 3.2)

This is a master list of coolant hoses that I've compiled for the Yamaha V6. This information is posted in various places on the forum but a lot of manufacturers have stopped producing so some of the part numbers are no longer relevant. For that reason I've compiled the list using only Gates part numbers. These numbers can easily be crossed over to other part numbers but Gates seems to be the only company actively making these hoses and are still readily available at most parts houses and online.

Radiator Hose
3.0 Upper - #21976
3.2 Upper - #21976 Cut to fit.
3.0 Lower - #22735
3.2 Lower - #20538

Thermostat Housing to Oil Cooler
3.0 and 3.2 - #18856 (Maybe) There is a slightly different routing based on the coil pack(ATX vs MTX), so this hose may not fit one or the other. Bulk hose can be used no problem.

Oil Cooler to Block
3.0 and 3.2 - #18777

Heater Hoses 3.0 & 3.2
Pipe 1 (inlet) - #18080 Engine to pipe, cut to fit.
Pipe 1 (inlet) - #18079 Pipe to core, cut to fit, (possibly MTX only)
Pipe 1 (inlet) - #18822 Pipe to core, cut to fit, (possibly ATX only)
Pipe 2 (exit) - #18774 Cut to fit. One end is engine to pipe, other end is pipe to core.

Bypass Hoses 3.0 & 3.2
Rear Bank to TB - #18240 Cut to fit.
TB to Intake - #18020 Cut to fit.
Intake to Front Bank - #18664 Cut to fit. (unconfirmed). I have my TB bypassed.

Thermostat Housing Connector, bank 1 to bank 2.
This hose section is long discontinued. You will need to take your old section up to a parts store and match it up. Gates fuel filler hose works excellent but I cannot remember what size I used.

Is your 18856 the PCV hose going from the front valve cover to the intake? I use bulk hose for that.
I have the NAPA eqiuivalent PNs in the spreadsheet, with a note on how to convert them to Gates PNs.
I can confirm that 18856 fits 3.0 and 3.2.
I buy hose from Summit Racing for the Thermostat Housing Connector, bank 1 to bank 2.

The fl400s filter can be used for both the 3.0 and 3.2.

do you know the part number or the size for the crossover coolant hose for the 3.0L V6?, it's on the driver side in the middle engine connected to the thermostat housing, the hose is bulging and leaks out whenever the pressure gets too high

do you know the part number or the size for the crossover coolant hose for the 3.0L V6?, it's on the driver side in the middle engine connected to the thermostat housing, the hose is bulging and leaks out whenever the pressure gets too high

The hose between "Water Outlet #1" and "Water Outlet Housing" (between the two sides of the V6) is 1.25" hose (likely metric through). Perhaps 2.5 inches long. I opted for Napa Gold braid super reinforced, because replacing that is 4+ hours of labor plus every water gasket on that side of the engine.




I just used 5/8 inch hose for the loop by the oil cooler. Good to have a part number if I want to replace it without a kink in the middle.

I have the IAC "warmer" bypassed, but the throttle body is easier to leave connected than to try to cap everything effectively. The big stiff crankcase ventilation pipe on the bottom of the throttle body is a bigger annoyance.

It's a vapor hose. Just use 9/16 bulk hose. Get it at any parts store. I cap off the TB port and run the hose under the car to vent to atmosphere. Keeps all the sludge out of the intake.

1 1/4" is 31.75mm. Stock is 34mm. I use 35mm hose. Length is 1 1/2". I also use Gates or Ideal Tridon lined clamps. Because the hose is 1mm oversize, the clamps need to be real tight to stop leaks. The clamp liner prevents it from digging into the hose.
