I noticed some hesitation while driving. Figured I'd look into it, maybe MAP but no, the little bastards did a number. The hose I've got, but anyone have guidance on the electrical wire and how far back it goes?

This is my daily sales call driver, so no tunes going on. Advice from any and all greatly appreciated.

One day I'll empty the garage to prevent!Beed8ae7e954f2b5eb8d114c12818c2d4521d28a3fa8f9a7278578ec83c4553764b706c48fb6b057562d8cfd1ca4e4fcEbee1349135e04430a0f59db0f03f0654bfc8320c9df89a445b82a23b1304f03

Holy crap, that's messed up. Squirrels got to my F150 2 summers ago, didn't notice till it went into limp mode and I looked under the intake. Yeah, solder and shrink wrap for sure. Take your time stripping the wire back and make sure you match them up. If you keep her in the garage leave a light on and for sure get some traps to get them. Good Luck

2 car garage - wife's expy is nice and warm, my side is lawn tractor, snowblower and 3 kids worth of outdoor stuff (yeah we have a shed for this purpose, but, um, that's full). I live in the middle of the woods, so somewhat expect, but damn the amount of chewing they do. I ordered the replacement hose which was $27. The wire stripping and solder will be a nice out of the house project, at least a 6 pack. Now to think of a better mousetrap.

Turns out it's a chipmunk not mice. I put some cedar chips soaked in peppermint oil and put in plastic containers that i put around the engine bay (not touching anything hot). I also used some dryer sheets above wheel well and in engine bay. I have a nest camera on it while it's parked for the next few days and will see if any activity comes back.

I know this isn't the best option and not everyone will agree with it but it's the only way I've found to keep the bastards out of the cars (I also live in the middle of the woods). Also if you or any neighbors have dogs, cats, or other pets that could get into the area it's a no go. But I take one of the open top drain pans, and fill it with about 3" of antifreeze. The bastards climb up, drop in, and then cannot get out due to the lip on the container. I've tried putting other things in just to catch them (peanut butter, cheese, etc) and nothing works like antifreeze.

Call it what you want but I've tried more types of traps then I can recall and this is the only way I've ever prevented them from getting into the vehicle (especially in the winter).

They are drawn to the sweet smell. Interesting.

Since leaving the hood up while parked I've had no activity on the camera, but the real time to watch is when the weather gets cool out. I have a very reliable service that treats the home for mice quarterly and since doing this have seen nothing in garage, under deck and shed. Once we get into early September i will absolutely do the antifreeze. Makes sense, sweet smell, greed gets em killed. I'll post the video of the culprit chipmunk that keeps going to my car.

$.99 for the hose, rest i had on hand. I ordered some rodent proof tape and the engine bay smells like bounty fresh peppermint. I also got the little guy with a .22 pellet after seeing him scoot from the tire cavity.

No more hesitation. Thank you everyone for the tips!7c8bceee3f912d911d0352eb6d255e9a
