Bottom line... look in the trunk. Do you have a spare tire? Or do you have a tire inflation kit? The latter comes with PP. Also, search the forums for disabling traction control to TRUE OFF. (Hold Traction Control button for 10 seconds until it says it's off, while parked, IIRC.) The PP allows the traction control to be totally disabled, the regular does not.

The speed density intake of the EcoBoost vehicles are very flexible when it comes to accepting greater air flow. This is why you will only see gains of ~10whp on a non methanol injection or upgraded turbo car. Once you add either of those parts our CAI has been proven to add as much as 22WHP over another popular CAI. Unfortunately, the days of slapping on a CAI and adding 40hp are over. :frown:

We offer several performance packages that vary in gains. Our Level 1 kit will add about 70WHP and 90WTQ. We do advise the addition the 3 BAR MAP sensor, as it allows us to give you a stronger and more smooth tune. We also offer a Level 2 kit that adds our Thunderstorm Race Catted Downpipes!

Thank you!! Well I am not looking to track my SHO, I really just want a little better responsiveness and shift points. Like I mentioned, I don't mind doing alot of maintenance myself, nothing too hard though. My Dad always said "I don't care if you are a girl, you are going to learn how to take care your car right". So that has always stuck with me. It sounds like the MAP, Thermostat and Tune is a quick and easy swap. Not sure on the plugs... I can probably do them though, right?

Not sure what the "alcantara steering wheel" is. I may research that later. I will look in the trunk for a spare tire. Back to work for another hour. Thanks for all the tips. I will update with some pictures when I get home!

Plugs are pretty straightforward. First time out, maybe 1-1.5 hrs set aside. Usually the most difficult one is the driverside/rear bank (#3), you will have to move a couple of hoses for that. Also may need to have a couple of spark plug boots handy in case they fall apart. Don't be tempted by exotic plugs, Motorcraft SP534 or their NGK equivalents are proven to work well.

Max return on investment is from the tune/3bar MAP/TStat upgrade, yes. A Lisle spillfree funnel and some extra coolant onhand will help make the TStat swap that much more troublefree.

All of those parts are SUPER EASY to do! It doesn't matter that you're a girl...dad was right. There are very few things that I suggested are above a novice experience level for your car. You might need help doing something like a downpipe swap, but that is only because they are awkward to lug around under the car. The only mods that we recommend that a professional wrench do are a meth kit injection and/or a turbo upgrade.

I like how everyone skipped over the easiest way to tell if you have a SHO or not.

When you are in the driver seat, AKA the place that you spend the most time, just forward of the shifter on the center stack below the radio there is a trap door. Push on the door, if there is a group of 3 buttons that allow you to turn off the traction control, advancetrac and stability controls...SHE IS A PP!

Well, that door you speak of doesn't contain my traction control button. It contains sunshade, electrical outlet, and LED color control. The traction control button for a 12 is up top of the dash, pressing that in different hold times gets different results. Not sure about her year - I do recall they moved the button, but pretty sure that button works the same way in spite of it's new home?

Hello I'm new here too. I picked up a 2010 last week. The mods talked about here are easy you should be able to do them fine. I'm a ASE and ford certified master tech so I kinda know what I'm talking about lol.

So I took some pics when I got home. Then I gave it a nice washing. I probably should have done pictures after! Well I will post up some more in a few days. Based on a few of your tips, I guess I do NOT have the Performance Package... I have a spare tire in trunk, and in the compartment in front of the shifter, I do not have those grouping of buttons. I do have the power rear shade...if that counts for anything? :p

I am taking it in for window tinting Thursday. I will need some LMS goodies soon too! Just need to decide what all I want to order!

Dumb question possibly, do our SHO's have a cabin air filter that requires changing?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :p

Thanks for the info... I was kinda worried about the plugs (never done that before) but I think if I have a few hours on the weekend, I can do them. Not sure if I have all the right tools, but my neighbor always let's me borrow anything I need. He will even help me if I ask nicely!

Thanks, I need to discuss a few of the different options with you in the next week or so. When buying the tuner (is it an SCT...which I have for my Mustang?) How many different tunes do you normally include? I am thinking I would probably want it to hold a 93, 87 (just in case I ever can't find premium for some reason) and then my stock for when I take it to the dealership for any reason... Not sure if I should do a valet tune or anything. I never allow my cars to go to valet so that may be pointless.

BoatSHO, if you PM me the VIN and a real email address, I can run a copy of the original equipment list (window sticker) and email it to you.

We do not use SCT software. We actually engineered our own tuning software and hardware. The reason for that is we did not want to have to ask a second party for permission to access a table or wait for them to support a platform. If there is a table or part of the logic (within reason) that we want to access we do it! We support and have access to more in the late model, especially Ford, than ANYONE out there! Check out what we've been able to accomplish with our proprietary technology:

In 2009, before anyone had software, we were tuning the SHO and MKS.

In 2011, we were tuning the F-150 Eco before other companies could even flash it. We were the first again

In 2012, we were tuning the 2013 SHO while other software wasn't out for 6-8 months later

In 2012, we were tuning the Explorer Sport, almost a full year and a half before anyone else.

First to tune the 2.0 fusion

First to tune the 1.5 fusion

First to tune the 1.6 fusion

First to tune the 2.0 escape

First to tune the 1.6 escape

First tune only 12 second SHO

First 11 second SHO

First 12 second F150

First 12 second Explorer Sport

First 11 second EcoBoost Mustang

First with upgraded turbo's

First with Downpipes

First with Methanol kits

First to offer 3-bar tuning

First 600whp EcoBoost Dyno captured on video

Highest HP EcoBoost Engine on the planet

Quickest Taurus SHO in the 1/4 mile

Fastest Taurus SHO in the 1/4 mile

First to tune 2015 Expedition / Navigator

First to tune 2015 F-150 EcoBoost

I don't know how to tell you this...but we're kind of a big deal. LOL!

So where is the option to PM... I see how to start a "conversation". Normally you can click on the username and it should give an option to PM right?
