Awesome post! Don't worry you are not the only one with questions like this.

As for warranty voidance...we have yet to have one happen to a client. We have also yet to have our tuning fail a vehicle. I know that your SHO is your baby...but I have had our most aggressive tuning on my car since I got her at 17 miles...I am a tick over 17k!
I got my warranty voided when my motor blew in my 13 EcoBoost F150. I wasnt running your tune at the time when it did blow.
I retuned to stock when it did blow and disconnected the battery for a few days. They were still able to see that it had been tuned.

Put in my order for the mycal tuner today, decided to just get the tuner for now. Some other bills have come up, so I will be getting the thermostat and the 3bar map later on. I want to thank Anthony at Livernois for answering my questions in a matter of minutes!

Excellent customer service!!!

Curious what let go in your motor when you say it was "blown"? Thanks...
Rod let go and put a big window in the side of the block. All the Eco F150's that have blown pretty much blow the same way. They have done it stock, tuned doesn't matter. I didn't drive my truck hard at all. In fact it blew when I was getting off the highway with little throttle input. I think its either 1. stuck injectors that flood the cylinder and hydrolock it or the infamous gulp of condensation that gathers in the intercooler. I'm leaning on the injector problem, because in the weeks before my motor blew, my MPG went to ****, and sometimes in the morning when I would start it up, it would blow out a bunch of black smoke. One time throwing it into limp mode.
There has been about 30+ Eco F150's this year that have blown.
I'm still running my Livernois tunes. I have no warranty anymore. Its not the tunes (Atleast LMS tunes) that are blowing the motors so, I said screw it. I'm gonna enjoy it.

Just started the ptu fluid last night.. It was sorta liquidy... Not like a paste, but the drain plug had some crap stuck to it.

I used my pump for the gear oil bottle to get it out.. Worked pretty good. I'm getting a new one for the clean oil today

I didn't get a quart out, that is for sure.. Gonna fill it up, run it for a little and do it again I think. Really wasn't as hard as everyone says

Definitely not hard to do, can be a PITA at times though...the PTU only holds 18 ounces and I've been getting 12-14 out each change. So a quart of new fluid should be good for 2 changes.

I drain mine into a mason jar so I have a measurement of what I get out each time...just as a reference.

Make sure car is level and fill until it reaches the plug.

Yeah I really only jacked the car up on passenger side just to get the wheel off. It's pretty level

If it's not level you have the chance of under filling or over filling depending on the point it's jacked up from.

I've been able to change it now by putting on jack stands and rolling underneath the car, no removal of tire needed if you can fit your hands in between the rear downpipe and PTU.

Well, I am happy as can be right now, just got a call from the dealership, my car will be ready for pick up on Monday :)

They've replaced the brake booster, replaced the PTU, as well as did all the fluids, PTU fluid, oil change, new spark plugs... They also replaced the rear sunshade, and both rear bass speakers in the shelf, as they were blown apparently..
Oh and an alignment and wheel balancing.

All that and I only have to pay the 100$ deductible for the CPO warranty!

And on top of that, my tuner from Livernois should be coming in this week!!! Is it Christmas yet??? :eeeeeek:

Just did a trans drain and refill also. It emptied about 5 quarts just using the drain on the pan... It was real dark but no burnt smell

How often should I change my transmission fluid and spark plugs? And how much does a shop usually charge for those things?

I would say plugs are good for 100k, trans fluid I would do every 30k.. Mine has 57k right now, but I bought it with 52k

Trans is recommended by FMC every 50k miles. But then again the PTU fluid is lifetime lol. So 30K sound good to me. If you are running any non FMC tune change you plugs more often. 35K miles for the plugs.

As a check on plug gap, once the SHO is tuned, you can pull the front bank of plugs to determine how far gone they are. Say yearly/every 10,000 miles. Or simply change them out as a matter of course at 25-30K miles (plugs are cheap enough). If it's not a DIY for you, maybe you have a mechanically inclined friend who can help you with it?

I took my plugs out at 50k to check the factory gap... They were fine... Every 10k is a little excessive... Maybe every 30k check them.

Check mine every 5k...change at 10k

From the looks they could go longer...but we're looking for optimal performance
