$200 for a mostly rust-free SHO w/ the fiberglass hood? Rod shifter? :naughty: For me, that'd be a no-brainer, these alone are worth $200. I'd buy it for parts, though, unless, of course, it's nice enough to justify an engine swap. What about the MTX? These are getting increasingly rare, so a good one is priceless. To add to what NeP8ntballer said: NEVER use any of that Bar-S stop leak stuff in your rad, unless you flush it out very soon with some rather aggressive radiator flush. This stuff will plug your radiator for good. I've done that twice, once I blew a side tank on the rad, the 2nd time it developed a hole in the core and got the engine close to overheating. In both cases, a new rad was needed.

yea i plan on the radiator replacement and the Schronizer in 2nd gear is apparently shot so that will be fun in case we end up doing a swap and the junk yard doesn't have one any one know how much Paul sell one of his motors for?

I almost bought this car 2 weekends ago..I bought the SHO plus he had on craigslist with this one your talking about(the one without the bra in the pic I bought)for 300..hes desperate to get rid of it..id talk him down some..hes planning on taking it to a junkyard soon. I never looked at the car too much..the body is in decent shape, front bumper is bad thats the reason for the bra..Id say go for it even if you cant talk him down..

BTW the car is rust free..The PLUS he had that I bought had some rust but for 300 I couldnt turn it down since the car came with another set of slicers with tires, a herst shifter, a hypertech chip, an aftermarket exhaust(flowmaster),a brand new optima red top battery (because the car wouldnt start so i told him to put a new battery in it) and the car runs great now that i traced the issue down (unplugged connector and emergency fuel pump cut off was engaged) I think I got a steal.

thats good to know that you got to look at the car, im glad to really know that the car is a rust free car, i just wish i knew what would really be wrong with the motor as he tells me its a blown headgasket, but i should find out sunday afternoon or sunday evening whats really up with the car. and ill will post updates about what i find out after sunday..

did you happen to get an idea of what mods might be done to the car like y pipe or anything like that? or if it was clean under the hood or anything like that? just thought i would ask sense youve seen it in person.

im not really sure on any of the mods the car has..engine of course is oily..the car has been sitting for awhile..Ive got the guys number if you need it..(919)420-5303 and (919)633-0782.(not sure if you have his number, he deleted the post with his number for some reason) Im not too sure on the mods or too much details on it since I was drawn to the PLUS he had, and because I only had one Uhaul trailer..if I could have put the both on the trailer I would have..haha..But I definately would have gotten it because you cant beat 200 dollars. His own vehicle is a SRT-10 Ram..I wish i could have gotten that off of him..:dribble:

Cool... I've been thinking about this the past couple days... no matter what the situation (though I'm still not sold on splitting a car 50/50) for $200 that can't be passed up. I once paid $200 for italian slicers mated to new Michelins and I thought I got a good deal

I agree..for 200 bucks you cant beat the deal..ive seen the car in person since I bought the other one he had for 300 bucks..even though the car doesnt run perfect it was a great deal..keep us updated on everything

well, the car is now with its new owners, the oil checked out clean no antifreeze in the oil which is good but then again theres pretty much no antifreeze in the car at all, we are going to try to get it running tonight as i will also try and get some pics up for everyone to see.

btw the body is 100% rust free like no joke, the interior could use a little work, its got 163,000 miles on it.

p.s finally price of the car was 100 bucks.

ok well we looked real good at it to night there may be no antifreeze in the oil but i think theres some in the antifreeze but we declared it to actually be a blown head gasket took the radiator cap off and turned it over after filling the antifreeze no start but the compression is all going straight into the radiator so its filled the exaust with it were trying to decide on what would be better
getting new heads and gaskets or doing a 3.2 swap

so as of right now, weve got the intake, valve covers (finally, after grinding one of the bolts off cuz it was striped when the last person did the valve cover gaskets) acc. belts, timing belt, all the covers and the cam gears off the car, removed the coil pack, tomorrow the front head should be off the car as everything is going smoothy right now hopefully we can start getting the back head off tomorrow night as well, ill keep everyone updated on the progress, and just so everyone knows pics might be alittle far off as ill probably wait for the car to be fixed and washed up before posting pics, if anyone would like i can post pics of the progress as i know there really isnt a write up of doing the head gaskets on our cars as its not a normal thing..

we hope to have it starting to go back together after thanksgiving and hopfully running again before the end of the month.

yep yep, ill try and see if i can get some pics tomorrow night of that valve cover bolt and of the work we have done so far, tomorrow the front head comes off, and we start on the back one, just keep in mind the reason its going kinda so is because i dont get off till 10 at night so it makes things alittle difficult

btw, its the front head that blew out from what i saw when pulling the manifold off tonight, theres from coolent in the front manifold

anybody know where i can get a good set of used possibly low mileage heads for a 1991 sho, with cams preferably, i dont like the idea of having to remove cams and swap them on another head?

P1010186
P1010190

P1010191
P1010192
P1010193
P1010194

the work we had to do to get the rear valve cover off..
P1010200
P1010197

the surprise we happen to find once we took the heads off, honestly with how much antifreeze leaked from the head when it was loosed from the motor thats probably where most of this came from.
front
P1010201
P1010202
P1010203
the rear is a little worse, the flash made it look really bad but its not really, and surprisingly enough it was building great compression
P1010204
P1010205
P1010206
P1010208
after all the antifreeze was cleaned out..
P1010211
P1010210
P1010213
P1010214

thats all for right now... sry for such a long post but im sure everyone wanted to know what we might find i dont think its as bad as it could be i think with some fresh heads and head gaskets a new rad. and the cooling fan it should run great..
plz post any thoughts or opinions on the project.
