I hope this is acceptable to post but I got a great deal on Hawk HPS front brake pads (rears not available) and wanted to share. $20 plus free shipping. For that price you can't go wrong.

My apologies if I shouldn't be posting items for sale. These are from the Hawk outlet and I have no stake in it.

Thanks!

One of my 97's needs front pads. What the heck, I'll take a stab at it, never tried these pads before. I'll post up results.

Well, I finally got around to putting front brakes on one of my SHO's. If I had to use a word for these pads, it would be 'Meh'.

The greatest pads I've ever put on a V8 SHO? Not on your life.
The best $20.00 pads I've ever put on a V8 SHO - You bet!

Worth the money, yeah. Greatest brakes evah? Nah.

Agreed. They suck really bad....

I have always liked Hawk pads. I think they wear a little early but as far as stopping I thought they were good. What do you think is a good pad? My 95 ATX has 11.6 in the front and rear with Hawk pads all around and centric rotors all around and my 94 ATX has stock front and rear rotor sizes with Brembo in front with Motorcraft Super Duty pads in the front (rear is unknown) and my 95 stops much better even though my 95 seems to have a softer pedal.

Funny I just finished up installing these pads plus stock rotors today after the nor'easters finally decided to leave. They don't seem all that bad to me and were definitely an improvement over whatever was their before (leftover from previous owner). Plus for the $20 price I figured it was worth the shot.

I like Hawk HP + pads, but the HPS pads are junk IMO.

I didn't see Hawk listing an HP+ application for the Gen III SHO on their site. Do you know the part number? For future reference in case these turn out as bad as people are saying. I'd also be curious to here what people do recommend for a stock application. In searching it looks like Ford OEM and Performance Friction Carbon Metallic comes up allot. Any one suggested over the other or maybe something else?

I like the PFCM's myself... same "type" as the HP+'s.... but you have to make sure to 'bed' them correctly to get the full effect of them.

Those others shouldn't be that bad, and would probally be better than stock.

I thought I was pretty clear. I said 'Meh'. Didn't knock my socks off. They don't SUCK, they aren't awesome. They are just 'Meh'.

For $20.00 bux? YEAH ! !
The car stopped! Woo Hoo ! ! ! That's about all I could expect.

Do they compare to the EBC Green or Red that I've used? No. The Hawk Red? No, those are all much better pads IMO.

The Duralast? YES. Were they cheaper than the Duralast? YES.

No, they suck on a Gen 3. lasted the first two laps in the first session of the Northeast Convention track day driven by a good driver (KH) you can buy shit pads from autozone for 15 that work just as good.

I'll fight anyone to the death on PFCM are JUNK!!!!! The HPS's are junk too........ I'm not dissing the $20, theyre a deal for that, but they suck preformancewise. Oreillys cheapest brakebest pads work better. PFCM and HPS rate equal to me. They wouldnt stop a fat chick from ****** a skinny guy if they tried.

I have tested this. I'm right.
