the injector is an on off switch basically. Only thing i could see messing with the flow of fuel coming out of the injector would be a vacuum of some sorts. I dunno.

That is what I read as well. So the problem is not the pistons themselves but poor fuel delivery.
First off what do you mean splitting on a v6, I'm not nor have I ever heard of doing that.
Secondly, the guy I talked to, said number 5 was the problem so I concur on that.

I'd lean more towards poor tuning.....
Never have heard how much the v8 motor can take, is it as strong as the v6? (Assuming a good A/F ratio and good tuning)

im kinda surprised that doesnt cause problems since the regulator is after the rail?
