I could be way off base here, but back then did Ford put the retaining clips on the wheel studs to hold the rotor on as they did in the later years? if its original chances are the rotor was never off and they are still on there....

and if thats not the case, spray some PB blaster where the middle hole in the rotor meets with the hub.... let that sit... then beat it like your trying out to be in the LAPD precinct that arrested Rodney King...

beat it with everything you have..... hold nothing back... if that doesn't work, try a friend who is stronger then you...... make sure you are using a metal hammer, I saw someone suggest a mallet, which is typical made of rubber or other soft material, that won't do you any good in this situation... you need the hard impact to break it loose... also if someone you know has more of a real sledge hammer with a longer handle, take some swings with that.......

I'm not too keen on heating it up as the bearing is close to the rotor... and to really heat it up to do any good would require some high temperatures so that it is easily glowing red.... me personally, I wouldn't do that on my wheel bearing

also, if you have access to a air compressor, try a air hammer to give it some nice impact around the rotor hat.... or if electrically powered, something like a chipping hammer or such

its all about the impact

I smacked the heck out of mine, and I'm no small boy. I ended up having to use a puller to break mine loose............

beat it like you found it hiding ***** in your 14 yr old daughters closet

edit: i had to use a 20 pound sledge to beat my bosses jaguars wheels off, and i didnt damage anything, so you just must be hitting it wrong.

my suggestion: switch from cars to womens soft ball as your preferred hobby :)

On a serious note, I had the same problem with my 98 GT 'Stang. I pounded on that ***** with a 10lb sledge for about 5 minutes solid until my arms were numb and my eyes burned of sweat. It didn't budge. So my friend took over and on his first swing, the rotor popped off :nut:

cliffs: Hit it until you can't hit it any more. Then smack it one more time.

"Shorty imma hit it hit it like I caint missssssss."
