I think we will see some fast ecoboost SHOs in the futurs with the name brand fabricators jumping on board producing parts. AWD and boost is going to be a win... why didn't I think of that?!?

The numbers are looking pretty good so far. I'm definitely hoping for a high 13's SHO.

Better piping and a tune should net a pretty decent gain. Possibly some lighter rims if any exist.

Still I'm a bit skeptical on what the potential of this engine is. No forged internals and it is already running on boost. I have a feeling it won't be long until we find the breaking point for these engines...

Has anybody heard if Bondurand, Shelby or Saleen will be getting ahold of these cars? Maybe Ford Racing will support the SHO this time.

Well, I can say that I am not a fan of the ecoboost, mostly because I'm sad yamaha didnt make it. BUT, it is slowly winning me over, I think once I drive one I will change my mind :)

I feel the same way. I'm just waiting for the dealerships to bring in the SHO's for test drives. I'll be going all over the place test driving them that's for sure!

Why are we even comparing a 3200lbs 436hp sports car to a 4850lbs 350hp SUV? But, for being 1600lbs more than the Vette, 14.5 is pretty impressive.

I'm very impressed with the ecoboost; that torque curve is unreal combined with the improved mpg over V8 power. Supposedly 400 hp is what the tranny is limited to; no more power can be handled due to the tranverse mounting of the engine in the Taurus. Rumors also going around of 400 + hp Ecoboost in Mustang guise, with the motor mounted straight though, so better trannies (manual and auto) can be used.

I'm sure the transmission can handle more than 400hp, however, the torque may quickly find the transmission's limit.

I have found the turbo platform fun to play with.

I think with the final drive ratio in the SHO. Upping the boost, getting the intake temps down with a larger intercooler or some meth, annd adding a higher stall converter, the car should hit low 13's.... Maybe even break 12's in the right conditions with a tail wind and a slight downhill.

For me, Im gonna wait a little. Lets see what they turn out to be, before I go order mine.

Stock V6 SHO's could probably hit 12's on a downhill 1/4 mile track.

I'm willing to bet 9's if we just straight up dropped it off a cliff.

I really like the new SHO, but if given the choice between the SHO and the MKS i'd gladly take the Lincoln. That is one sexy car!

As far as the quarter mile times go, I think it does very well for a big sedan. That would be plenty of power for me for everyday driving and the occasional back road adventure.

I wish I had 40K laying around. I'd have a MKS! :dribble:

The SHO has an upgraded suspension, and should outhandle the MKS as well as have 10 more HP; the reviews of the MKS say that the suspension is not dialed in for spirited driving.
