I, uh, removed the needles to the fuel and temp gauges and now I can't remember where they're supposed to point when the car is off. I know they always go back to a specific place but I don't know where that is. I'm pretty sure the fuel is supposed to either go to 3/4 or the F line, and I think the temp gauge is supposed to point horizontally? Or does it go between M and A?

I'm so lost. Can somebody look at their car in the morning before it starts and look at them and let me know? Thanks...

When I'm at a full tank, the needle will drop to just below 3/4 after I shut it off. When I'm below 1/4 it will always rise just above 1/4 tank.

The temp gauge stays where it was when you shut it off, but if the engine is cool just turn the key to acc and the needle will fall all the way down.

I want to say in mine that the fuel needle is still somewhat accurate when you turn the car off. That's one thing I always liked about this car vs. the imports. You don't have to turn the key to find out how much fuel you have. The temp needle will gradually go back to C I think since the engine goes cold after the car is shut off.

Ther're all different, or at least every SHO i've owned has been slightly different. I too just made the same mistake when swaping guages from my 94 to my 95. What i did was let the car warm up to running temp; go to the nearest gas station & fill up; then reset the needles while the car was running. That has worked fine for me for the last 5K!;)
