MagnaFlow Exhaust, Direct-Fit Catalytic Converters. Dual stainless steel. As well as, Catco. Catco makes Direct-Fit Catalytic Converters. Magna is $237.95 Catco is $329.39 I found this out from SUMMIT RACING EQUIPMENT. www.summitracing.com Just put in Taurus SHO into the search box. Now I have a MTX. I must have this upgrade! What do I do? There is more Y Pipes out there that I know about too. Such as www.midwestsho.com Their kit is $399.99. Everyone eles is much more. I have two MagnaFlow Pollished Stainless Steel Mufflers (mirror finnish), and two MagnaFlow Pollished SS Tips. All new SS pipping from the resonator back. So... What is the right choice here? As well as, what dose the MTX sound like without the resonator? I asked, was told the resonator takes out the high pitch sound... In or out with the resonator pipe?

You put Taurus SHO in the search box and now you have an MTX? Wow, I'm going to try that! :)

Are you saying that there is a magnaflow Y pipe available for our cars via Summit Racing or that there are generic cats available that fit our car?

Don't remove the resonator unless you like rasp. I installed the largest magnaflow resonator that I could shake a stick at just to tone down the rasp.

Hmm..I just checked their site

Part number: MPE-23355 $237.95

It looks a lot like the Midwest/W body pipe.

I don't know if this pipe is mandrel bent but it does look just like the Midwest sho pipe. I just bought a Midwest y-pipe a couple weeks ago and it even had the same part # on the box- 23355.

I am interested in the MagnaFlow Resonator. You recomend it? :thumb: Yes, Summit has a very user friendly site. Who is Catco? You see there part too?
Here is a link for the Catco Y-pipe.

Catco

I paid alot less; $243 for the Catco y I bought a few months back to replace my SS Y-pipe with dead cats. The Catco is crush bent but is better then the stock unit. I have had no problems with mine so far.

Well, I wasn't going to post this because this doesn't help out Mike at all. However someone else already did. I checked the p/n# that I saved from my Y pipe and it did match.

When I said that it looked like the Midwest Pipe, I didn't realize how similar it was until I started to stare at the diagram after making the post.

It's a decent pipe regardless of who you get it from...There's really no point in ever getting the catco one now.

In support of Mike, I have ordered things from him in the past and will continue to consider him for future SHO purchases.

Ditto....
Mike still has got :thumb: :thumb: from me....

found an actual picture of the catco pipe....
http://store.summitracing.com/defau...autofilter=1&part=CTO-4525&N=115&autoview=sku

So the Y that is "supposidly" (sp?) mikes as well, is the one on Summitts site for 329...

here is a comparo between the two....
http://store.summitracing.com/defau...eywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnsearch.asp

so the one on the left is Mikeys pipe correct... or so we think.... VIA P/N #'s....
and then the catco is, well just the catco....

When I bring up the picture of the magnaflow y-pipe all I see is a drawing of it. There's not an actual picture that I see so I can really compare. I saw this magnaflow pipe on summit even before buying Mike's pipe and still decided to go with Midwest sho. They have great parts and I feel I got my moneys worth.

That's great. Even less expensive than Summit. As long as there is no 90* bend. You cant go wrong. MagnaFlow needs to give a picture. I'll check there site.

I think that it's pretty much confirmed that the Magnaflow pipe is the midwest pipe. The drawing is the same one that's on the box that the Midwest pipe comes in.

Bittersweet's pipe is not stainless steel nor does it have cats. I'd rather pay $237 -$399 for the Magnaflow/Midwest piece and not have those crush bends.
