To learn about cam chain tensioners, click on SEARCH and enter "cam chain tensioner" and search in this forum. Something in those 19 threads will get you the info you need.

nope...alreay checked.

Also, I have a question...the noise coming from the engine is VERY loud. It is not a faint sound @ all. Would rod bearings cause a loud noise like this? would the cam chain?

Don't be fooled, the rod bearings project is doable but I highly doubt it can be done in an afternoon. Kurt recommends extra manifold to exhaust studs, FOLLOW THIS ADVICE, infact I would just get four and replace all of them so if the y pipe ever needs to come off again it's not such a project. It didn't help that I was trying to do this in the parking lot infront of my town house. Rusted exhaust studs are what ate all my time, also getting the oil pan back on without getting silicone everywhere was more than just a little difficult. I used assembly **** on the front and rear gaskets to hold them in place while putting the oil pan back on, I'm hoping they didn't shift when mounting the pan. I guess when the two feet of snow melts here in northern virginia and I put the oil back in I will know the answer pretty quickly. I just realized the assembly **** idea might not be too brilliant becaust the rtv probably won't stick to the rubber gaskets now, crap.
