I'm fairly confident I need both of these, I have to charge my battery via plug in charger (or jump) to get to and from work.

I chose to look for the alternator first because I can clutch it while going down hill, long as I'm able to find a. Solid hill near everything. Battery drains during load which sucks especially at night time. Thank you all!

Get a Harbor Freight multimeter and test the voltage at the terminals when the car is running. I think you should get around 14V. if not, something is wrong. I have a used alternator but I think they are available new. Same with the starter. Is it not spinning at all or is it just a weak crank?

Starter is not spinning. Every now and then it will start with the key. Other times it's hitting it with a hammer, or bypassing the solenoid with screwdriver trick. At the moment I'm blessed to have a hill to pop the clutch at my house and job

Alternator seems to not give a charge. After charging my battery last night with a wall charger, volts on battery 13.65 currently. I kno when I start it , the battery light will soon come on and it's like I'm slowly losing battery charge as I drive.

I checked resistance on the alternator and the connector.

Meter set @ 2M ohm setting....

Alternator Resistance on core - 92.2k

Connector resistance (positive lead to power wire YLW) - 97.3k

Edit: I did a parasite test via test.light to positive termin.and cable, no light same.eitj multimeter testing, nothing is draining it.

I have to go to a store to hopefully find baby formal here soon, I will edit with the bolt after starting.

If the starter is not engaging/spinning and you have good power from battery and mechaniclas are normal then starter issue. It is possible to not have enough battery cca's to kick over the starter. You can bench test this (starter, Alt) at some parts stores. Well, you used to but I haven't done it in about a decade now so maybe/maybe not. A volt meter with battery at rest lets you know if there is enough power to really turn a working starter over. A volt meter on the batt term with car running should show if the alt is producing enough electricity to charge the battery.

Weird that the running voltage is lower than the battery at rest voltage. That should be reversed and-- with alt running should be over 13 and close to or slightly over 14v IIRC

Can some help me understand how the alternator was working so it seemed. I unplugged the connector to test the ohms and all that I forgot to plug it in. I popped the clutch n started it, drove it all about 20 miles the lights did not dim, I was able to use my brights turn everything on as far as the AC the windows the doors locked everything I could to have all loaded one time to see if I could get a red battery and I did not here's a picture of what it looks like I swear on everything I love...

Lol
