Trade your Gen 3 for a Gen 1/2? of like quality?

this is the delima ive had eating at me for a couple weeks.

i want a gen 1/2 (particulary a gen 1 plus) quite bad.
however i LOVE my gen 3, i love the way it makes me smile when i get into the go pedal. i love the sound it makes. i love the comfort it provides.

but i do miss the manual transmission, the ability to chase the horsepower number. the overall driving sensation that i get when im behind the wheel of a gen1/2.

i want both.

now. i can buy one next year, ill have the money. but im soo frekkin bored right now.

I don't know if I would trade, but I would like to take one for a spin. And it would have to be an mtx. Either gen 1 or 2, it dosen't matter to me.

thats the crazy thing about mine.

ive had zero "problems"

nothing major. all simple things and nothing that makes me dislike the car.

the ONLY reason i was concidering this is the car that is aval and the fact i cant do anything to the gen 3 to make it any more fun than it already is

Hmmm. Would I trade a Gen 3 for a Gen 1/2....Nah, not needed. I already have both. And just sold a gen 1 a couple months ago. Keep the Gen 3 and get yourself a Gen 1/2. There is something about each of them that you will like, as I have found out too. Driving styles, power, reliability, etc. separate them and you'll never really find out until you own all three gens. But finding a Gen 1 plus is a jewel! Good luck

from a gen 1 guy.... trade.
i know i am biased

the kid i bought mine from, bought a gen 3 after i bought his 91. all he would do is complain about how much better and faster the 91 was,

-end of biased story-

Just to let you guys know, the Gen 2 is pretty well modded. Its 200% rust free as well. Not that I want to sway the vote, as I'm still undecided as to trade or not. The car has a very long list of mods including a 3.2 swap.

- James

EDIT:

Heres the list of mods

3.2 swap with 3.0 cams (fully 60k'd)
Ported intake/BBB's
CAI
PC's intake/VC's
Tokico/Eibach
H-brace
GTP arms in the rear
CF hood (needs/will be painted)
New A/C Compressor
New BDA
17x8 Mille Miglia's - yes ugly, but they are 8" wide
Cobra front brakes
11.6 rear brakes
Drilled/slotted rotors F&R
Russell braided brake lines
Shobros catless Y-pipe
Magnaflow mufflers

Thats all I can think of right now, anyways. Carry on.

Nice- but it still has a diff pin... ;)

Honestly- it's apples and oranges, the cars are really that different. The Gen I & II are fun, the III is refined. I've owned them all, way too many of them... And at this point, I wouldn't trade my III for a I or II. Overall from bumper to bumper, it's just a better, more reliable car.

But I miss my secondaries. :theyareontome:

:p

now this dosent help.

stock for stock ive been outrun by all of James' sho's sept the red one (havent run them) but like it was said before each car has things that make it better than the others.

flat out the gen 3 has the BEST fit and finish of all generations. its simply drives wonferfully.
it still excites me. it still gets a thrill from people when the flows growl.

but it dosent have that "fun" factor of the gen one / two

Yes, and it also has an MTX, and doesn't need the cams welded!=) Line them up for a race, then we'll see which one he chooses.:thumb:

Depends what you want it for. Gen 3's are nice for daily drivers/comfort.
Gen1/2 are nice for some street racing:evilgrin:

Mine Was Stock And Is Still Stock ,his V-8 Sho Had The Cams Welded And Flow Masters Which Made A Incredible Growl , You Could Hear Him Pulling Out From Our Shop 2 Blocks Away But The Perfomance Was Not There , Sure It Is A Newer Sho But Remember Mine Was Stock . I Know The New Er Models Are Sleek,/ But Have Their Share Of Problems? Are You Going To Be Happy When Older Sho's Blow Your Doors Off? It Would Make Me Go Bonkers As If I Am Not All Ready . The Bottom Line Is All Sho's Are Very Addictive Once You Have A Chance To Drive Them Like I Do If They Run Up To Par!!!! Do What Makes You Happy;-)...i Dont Want To Sound Rude= But If You Want It ,,go Get It Man ..

im not a 1/4 mile type guy. i did road racing for a time. and i have yet to drive a car that was as home on that track as my Probe GT
the only thing that appeals to me is the "fun" factor, and the ability to make gobs more power.

If he doesn't trade with you, I might be interested. I don't care for the styling of the gen 2's much, but I'm tired of automatics.

Just wait until you can buy it and own both.

I loved my MTX SHO but I spent a ton of money and time fixing it. With all the hours I have to work, I needed a daily driver that wasn't sitting in pieces in front of the house when it was time to go to work. Never again. Reliable daily driver and if you want to play get something else.
