I just got done putting a new AC compressor in myself because I can't afoord to Have some one else do it. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea because now it won't start. Now, before you start thinking "what an idiot," the circumstances are kind of strange. Well first I had to take the battery, fan, alternator, and some relays out to get to it. I put everything back the way it should be, and I'm happy. It took a LONG time. Finally get the belt on and go to start it, and it won't start. I try a few times, curse at myself, and get ready to push it back into the garage. I SHUT THE HOOD, get back in the car, and I try one more time, and it started right up! Anyway, I was real happy, and I just put a new belt on so I let it idle for about 5 minutes, and I don't know why I did this but I Pulled the little lever to open the hood to check things over once more I guess, but as soon as I pulled it, the engine shut off! Now it won't even start back up, hood open or closed. I would appreciate any help any of you might be able to give. Please note, I have checked EVERYTHING that I have taken off or unhooked.

Define "won't start".

Does that mean that it won't crank or that it cranks but doesn't fire?

Double check the connections on the relay module mounted on the upper radiator support. That black box contains the EEC power relay and the fuel pump relay, either of which would cause a crank but no fire condition.

Since it started that one time when you closed the hood, look for a bad connection there first.
