Well put in a brand new Motorcraft Crank position sensor in and still no spark. The fuel pump primes and I have fuel pressure, so it's ignition related.

But what is it? My car would start when it's cold, but dies once it warms up and won't start again until it cools down like a day later.

The DIS is getting a good ground and I taped off the area where it contacts the crossover tube when I powdercoated it, is there a way I can check if the DIS died?

I'm lost

My 89 Supercoupe used to do that. It would start perfectly, I'd drive it, and it'd die. Sometimes I could get it to restart if I cranked it over many, many times, but it would always start back up after I let it sit for a little while. I replaced the CPS and it had no effect. Then I replaced the Cam Position Sensor and it ran perfectly.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Just unplug the CID sensor and try starting the engine. Give it several tries (3-5) and see if it fires. If it doesn't fire, the problem is not the sensor. If it does, the sensor is likely shorted internally.

The engine will run just fine with no cam sensor once it has "guessed" the proper injector timing.

Search under my signature for the DIS tests. The tests includes the CPS, cam sensor, coil, etc. Check your grounds, especiallty the DIS ground. The DIS is grounded by the 4 little screws that screw into the intake plennum crossover tube on the passenger side. The intake crossover tube is grounded by the 4 12mm bolts that hold it to the head. rangerj
