I have run both ... mechanical and electric.
The mechanical is significantly harder to feed the line ( I used cooper )through the fire wall up to were I had the guages mounted.
I use sun pro guages and they allow u only 6 ' of line. 7 feet would have been better. Though the mechanical is better ..... and this is what i used ... it took me some time to get it routed to were I had enough room to mount the tubing to my gauge.
IF u break the line your gauge will read 0 immediatly ..... and tell u way before u have a motor problem. I always am monitering my gauges.
