SHOMEUP- When you ground something you need to have the - signal as close to the object that you are grounding as possible, therefore if you ran another wire to the car's battery you would be losing the signal's strength by having it too far away.
92shoiowa- When you run the wire into a distribution block all you are doing is re-routing the signal, not splitting it. It isnt safe to run more than one power wire to the rear of you car, also it is very very rough on your car's alternator if you have multiple power wires running from the battery. The distribution block has a 4-gauge input, 1 or 2 4-gauge outputs and if I am not mistaken 3 8-gauge outputs. All a distribution block is a piece of gold plated metal that is cover by a plastic case the re-routes current to smaller wires or multiple wires.
