What is the advantage of using Windstar swaybar endlinks? Can they be used for all four corners, or just the front? Plastic or metal is better? What year windstar parts (96-98?)?

TIA for the replies. Trying to get some new endlinks all the way around, just don't know what to go with.

The Windstar endlinks are only for the front. I understand their benefits to be longer life/wear than the composite ("plastic") links. From personal experience, I would not recommend the composite type endlinks. For part numbers and ordering, check out SHONUT's website . Be sure to get MOOG TPR endlinks for the rear. I picked mine up at the local O'Reilly's. I believe they can be ordered from SHONUT and Rockauto.

I broke the plastic links inside of a month. I got the windstar links from Josh a while ago, and so far so good! thumb

It's kinda like the FL1A oil filter upgrade...I wonder if the majority of people still go out and buy the plastic (junk) endlinks.

Well, I'm still a FL-400 user so no surprise that I bought the composite links huh..... At the time, I hadn't found too many negative takes on the plastic links.

But the aluminum endlinks have plastic ends...

And do I need to buy the nuts with the front endlinks, or will they be included?

Lastly, what bushings do I need in the front...polyurethane and not TPR?

FYI, advance auto now has the same part number listed for the winstar and the taurus. aluminum all the way from one end to another. no plastic endlinks anymore.

w3rd, when I got the plastic end links, they were sold as "heavy duty plastic end links". And I actually believed it. But recently one of them worked its way undone, and got snapped off by the front passenger wheel. After putting on moog (which are solid metal, seems like aluminum) suspension feels even tighter. Very sturdy looking too.

the "heavy duty" plasic endlinks have been holding up so far, 30K and no rattles up front yet.

But next time will be the windstar endlinks for sure
