What level of window tinting is everyone running. I am getting mine done on the 30th.
18% or 35% I have seen both in the show room but not on a car . show room is always different than actual car.
Thinking maybe 18% 2nd row back and 35 on 1st row. debating all option.
open to comments and suggestions before I bite the bullet. Car is magnetic.
Thanks

Also, anyone know what Michigan law is on tinting? Got a fixit ticket on a car I purchased way back in the 80's. Judge made me remove it because it was to dark under Michigan law.

This gives you an ideal just select your state.
http://tintlaws.com/alabama-window-tint-law.php

but question really is what will they let you get away with, how many Dark as night tints are out there and no one says anything
I have seen the local PD pull over cars ans not say a word. I work for a medical lab and dark rear tint would help with the Security of what I am carrying.
Not to say all of my clients are law enforcement and I park in their lots anyway

My profile picture is a Magnetic 2015 w/ 35% tint, but she got totaled last month:(. My new SHO is a Black 2016 and I had 20% put on her this weekend. 2016 SHO

I was pretty shocked when he wrote that ticket. Michigan state cop at that. They usually are fairly lenient. THANKS for the info.

Were you happy with the 35% or wished you had done the 20%
The Black does look nice at 20%
I thought the 35% was a perfect match for the Magnetic (it looked classy), but was worried it would look too light/grey with the black. I think you'll be fine either way...just remember 20% is a bit darker at night.

35%/20% Legal in Missouri. Front has to allow 35% to pass in/rear windows can be as dark as you like. Looks good and I have no issues seeing at night (no more than the rolling blind spot comes from the factory with),. Fwiw, I also installed projector style LED back up bulbs to brighten things up backing out at night but even then, 20% isn't horrible to see through.

Do you know which bulbs they are? never hurts to have more backup lighting :)

I have to play the game 70% in Pennsylvania. but a lot of cars are running way more and no one cares it seems.

It depends on the cop if they feel like doing it or even notice it.

When it comes to tint the truth is other then what is required by law it comes down to personal taste. To me the darker the car the lighter the tint the lighter the car the darker the car, but that's just my taste. Other than that I am not sure it makes that much of a difference, I am not even sure if the expensive tint is worth the extra money.

I personally will never go darker than 20% on any of my cars because it can be more challenging at night when there is no light out. Otherwise, it's perfect for me. Another thought, ask the shop if they could do 28 or 30%. I know mine could mix it up like that.

Is there a better brand than others or installation method. I hate those with wrinkles or bubbles in them.

I personally went with the basic tint offered. There are higher levels that offer better heat/UV protection, but I didn't care to pay the higher expense.

Wrinkles and bubbles happen from poor Installation mostly not caring.
All it takes is first out the tint on the glass and get a ruff cut as close as you can get without spending 10 minutes.
Prep is big for a new person to tint wash window very well get a sponge with a light scrubber not the green pad wipe clean then use a razor blade with wet window. Wipe clean with lint free rag or your sponge if you swipe in one direction.
Take these tips with
and everything should go good I suggest a cheap Walmart tint to try first
Tinting is easy till you have to heat shrink a large window.

Also key is having a sharp razor.
