Has anybody successfully repaired a 1992 Taurus power window motor? The reason I ask is because all 4 of my power windows in my 1992 ex-police car quit all at the same time (the motor spins but the window does not move). I have sourced 3 NOS motors and will use one Dorman motor which actually looks like a pretty nice part. There are various repair kits for Ford power window motors out there on some web sites and eBay. I opened up the motor that will be replaced by the Dorman replacement motor and it does not look anything like the motors they show on YouTube from guys that have used the various kits to repair their motors. The videos and repair kits seem to fit the Broncos and F-150s. The motors externally look the same but internally they are different. So has anyone refurbished what I am thinking is the nylon gear below the second plate on the motor? The motor still works, seems a shame to pitch the 4 motors because of a nylon part.

Well, Bill, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that the motors appear to use the same crumbly bits as the older style motors. The bad news is that the gear has additional springy bits that, so far, I haven't been able to figure out how to reassemble. I also hate throwing away "good" parts but, you'ld be better off just buying new motors.
