3m crystalline works a lot like a ceramic but better.

Can you tell me more about it? I want to make sure I am getting the best for my buck. How is it better and do most tint places do it? Thanks again for your help.

How do you like it? My car is black and thinking 35% would be good all the way around. Does the 35% do the job and look good.

I had it was either 30 or 35% back in Maryland and looked good. Whatever tint I had came up about 2-3 percent UNDER the limit example 30% legal mine cam in at 32% As of last report PA Only allows 70% which is basically factory tint. With that said I didn't see too many people getting hassled but you never know when you are going to find a small town cop with a name to make or points for his department.

Here in TX The legal limit is 25% front and I believe no limit for back. I went with 25% just prior to moving here by my Maryland Installer. Although no limit for rears I went with 25% all they way around and 5% on the front windshield band. When I had my windows checked upon arrival in Texas the tint came out at around 32$ so I might have been able to go with 20 and still be legal but 25% works.

Side Note for front windows: For most states they use a reference point called the AS1 Line. Very small print but the line marker is engraved into the glass. From Drivers seat look into the upper left outboard windshield. Start at top and work your way down there is engraving mark called AS-1 That is the reference point most states use. The reference is usually stated as either inches above, inches below or AT the AS-1 Line. Most may not have limits on the AS-1 Line especially above the tint percentage is usually not a factor since it shouldn't obstruct the drivers view. The restrictions on the AS-1 Line and for that matter most window tints are some key points and key words or phrases to watch for.

NON REFLECTIVE
NO Colored tint especially red, blue, yellow or green.

Funny this subject should come up getting hotter soon I should probably start thinking about tinting my Volvo.

You are so right! I had 35% on my last SHO, but decided to get 20% on my new one. I had no night issues with the 35, but there is a pretty big difference at night with the 20...I notice it just trying to back out of my driveway in the morning. I would explain it like wearing sunglasses at night :cool:;)

Thanks for your info. Did the 35% look good? That's what I'm leaning to.

Yes it looks really good as long as it's a quality tint that looks grey and not purple.

What does magnetic mean? The guy here in Michigan says don't need it unless your car is parked in direct sunlight for hours and the one he recommend is guaranteed for life. Think I should get the magnetic? It's $100.00 more.

this is super nice but no one does this in Alaska and last looked a little pricey. Just for a front kit.

What level of window tinting is everyone running. I am getting mine done on the 30th.
18% or 35% I have seen both in the show room but not on a car . show room is always different than actual car.
Thinking maybe 18% 2nd row back and 35 on 1st row. debating all option.
open to comments and suggestions before I bite the bullet. Car is magnetic.
Thanks
I just had mine done 30% on front and 20% on the back doors and back window. I went ceramic and also did the windshield. Love it!!!!

That's awesome. Quite expensive and I worry about long term reliability. But my state just added checking tint to the annual inspection. I haven't decided what I am doing with the SHO yet. I have had tint on every car I've owned since the mid 90s. The glare from other drivers headlights have bothered me more and more and the tint helps. I don't want to have to pull it off and retint every year though.
