I have a 91 SHO and it has developed a bad driver side window scratch top to bottom. Is this a problem with the curved glass or is something gone wrong in the window track? At this point,a new window is needed.HELP///Thanks for all the tricks you guys have learned and passed along about these cars.

My 93 has had the same scratch in the driver's window for years. Never caused a problem. I'm pretty sure that it was caused by something in the window track. I've been told that I can buff it out.

And it would probably help if there was a picture of your car's scratch.

The guy who tinted my windows told me that it is caused by dirt and grit right at that point in the felt/rubber strip that the window passes up and down over, so every time you open and close the window, it is like etching the glass in the same place. He said a bad scratch wouldn't come out without serious grinding/polishing...I went after it with some very high grit emery and made slight improvement, but it did seem like it was kinda there to stay once I found it. He said to keep those black edges clean and it would happen, and to clean them now to stop the etching process.
